That thought crossed my mind when he started telling HHH "you were that close to being pinned"

Well if it weren't for Chris Jericho's highlight reel tonight, Shelton Benjiman's victory would have been the coolest thing on the show.

Maybe HHH will back outta the Backlash main event to feud with Benjamin?
...well, after tonight, I think basically anything is possible!

Cant wait for next weeks Raw. They just keep on getting better and better. Maybe next week we will something bigger than this......***Thinks about it***...There could be nothing bigger than what just happened. Unless Triple H loses again.

I wonder where he goes from here. Most of the big names already have matches at Backlash.
I think the most logical thing would be him against Flair or Batista.
Its a shame that they put HHH in the mainevent cause I'd love to see a rematch

Maybe you do a re-match and isolate Benoit vs. Michaels, saying HHH basically lost his #1 contendership to Shelton.

beside.. kingsofoldschool & splaya.. i don't see why you guys are flaming me.. apparently.. you guys need to get a life.
all i was stating is.. that it makes everyone looks much weaker now, since they couldn't even beat triple h.. and shelton looked superior compared to triple h in that match

I just watched the end of that match and I would have to agree with what JR said. He said that "Tonight its all about the Benjamins!". And that is True.

I think that they would want Goldberg and Steiner look weak, and they probably just forgot about Kane. BTW What ever happened to Steiner? not that it's a bad thing that I dont see him on Raw anymore.

Sonofabitch, I cant believe what I just saw. Shelton pinning HHH!!!!!!!!!!! I wasn't much of a Shelton fan, but I was pulling for him the whole time. I don't even get into the matches that much, but that was cool. HHH would do a cocky move, then Shelton would retalitate and do the same thing. But once Flair interfered, I thought it was over, but damn SHELTON BENJAMIN PINNED HHH!! :D
Oh and by the way, FDDBBTH! FDDBBTH! FDDBBTH! FDDBBTH! FDDBBTH!

What the fuc</>k are you bitches babbling about? Anyway, I liked RAW tonight. And as far as Shelton being the next Rock, I think I know what you mean. (sorry em, woulda replied earlier but had a blue screen to deal with)
Not necessarily in style, or promo style, and definitely not wrestling style (sorry Rock, Shelton's got ya by a few miles there) but he has proven to have huge potential, and if he gets some more mic time, and maybe airs off the fact that he went over Trips cocky-like, that'll add loads to his character. What a match too, that match was VERY well done. I like the way Trips came off the top and sold that kick, he just stood there for like 5 seconds and you knew he was gonna just drop. (lol Ric Flair does that, and I think it's hilarious and a good sell now and then)
Anyway, I hope this doesn't turn into a Razor Ramon/1-2-3 Kid type thing, and that Trips sucks it up and moves on. Don't want him wrestling Shelton every week til he re-buries him and makes the match look like a fluke.

I was kinda watching Raw, but distracted by paperwork, and not really watching the match. The next thing I know, Shelton Benjamin beats Triple H! It was he first time in years I've been able to "mark out," and I jumped up off my couch! I even scared the cat. Quite the sight!

Or maybe when they said "It all begins again," they meant putting Triple H through the Ultimate Warrior treatment?
On the other hand, Hurricane beat the Rock "cleanly" and now look at him. I won't get too hopeful.

Shel-TON! Shel-TON! Shel-TON!
Great match. Looks like most of the former Smackdown guys went over tonight. Rocks.
Holy shit, he beat HHH and almost 100% clean too. That was a really good match, Shelton should definitely fued with Orton soon.

Yeah I'm with you there. But The Rock is someone who actually is known to lay down alot more. I'm not trying to emphasize the rarity of Trips doing it, but, The Rock is usually easy-going about those sort of things. He likes doing his best to make the other guy look good.
Hurricane's gimmick is also rather jokish. Shelton is like an Angle type of guy, known for his wrestling accomplishments, and his athleticism. I guess time will tell, but agreed, I have hope, but won't get ahead of myself.

that's gay...
hbk couldn't beat him, steiner couldn't, goldberg couldn't, kane couldn't..
but shelton could??
HBK: has beaten him
Steiner: not good enough
Goldberg: has, but doesn't matter
Kane: deserved to, but couldn't

LOL so you knew that post was for you...Yeah Shelton is a better wrestler than the Rock but Rock has better Mic skills..of course we havent seen Benjamin on the Mic al but once when he was making fun of APA...Shelton also needs a gimmick thatll get him huge pops like the rock. I guess time will tell on how hes going to develope.

I missed RAW live last night (I was at a movie), but man am I ever glad I set my VCR!
This was one of my favorite RAWs of the last five years! Yeah. That good. Here's why (in no particular order):
1) Shelton Benjamin. I've known for a while that this guy was a main-event waiting to happen, and last night he took a BIG step in the right direction. A couple of people have mentioned a logic gap in that Benjamin beat HHH while "bigger" guys haven't. Keep in mind, though, in "kayfabe," HHH has only known about Benjamin being on RAW for about a week and probably never expected to be fighting him. Lack of preparation + Hungry young kid looking to make a name for himself = Upset.
2) The return of the Manbeast. As much as I was disappointed that Lance Storm got squashed, this is an excellent thing for Rhyno. Personally, I would rather have seen him beat A-Train in that match, as A-Train has pretty much reached as high as he's ever going to get on the WWE ladder (while Storm is capable of so much more), but I'll take what I can get. Rhyno looked phenomenal, even though it was a very short match.
3) Tajiri and Lance Storm = Disgruntled? Tajiri has now faced the wrath of Eric Bischoff after being mutilated by Kane (after he won, but still). Storm is fed up with the WWE crowds who, even after he tried his damnedest to win them over, still think he's boring. With the rumors of an ECW faction beginning in the near future, these two are starting to look like logical candidates to join up with Mr. Heyman's band of hardcore merry men.
4) The Highlight Reel. I forgot how much I missed face Jericho. I usually hate catchphrases, but when he got the "Filthy dirty disgusting brutal bottom-feeding trashbag ho" thing rolling again, I was loving it (badabababa). As has been said numerous times on this forum, something about heel Trish makes her sexier than she was as a face. There's something very attractive about the "bad girl," I suppose. Excellent segment.
5) Johnny Nitro. As much as I'd rather see him wrestling, John Hennigan looks like he could be the first Tough Enough champion to really "break through." Maven Huffman will never rise above being "The first TE Champion." Nidia Guenard (though she may win the Women's Title) will never be a top five Diva. Linda Miles and Jackie Gayda are valets for life. John has a lot of the necessary tools, and some in-ring exposure will make him a star.
My one beef with the show is that they put Austin on it. I can't believe - with the allegations going around about him - that he got TV time last night. That's a tasteless move on WWE's part. That segment would have worked just as well if it were Foley or Michaels who came into Bischoff's office to give him that pep talk. Hell, the pep talk was unnecessary. The stuff where he's walking to the ring was buildup enough.
Anyway, I loved last night's RAW and, for the first time in a long time, I am genuinely excited to see what happens next.

Yep, that's exactly what ran through my mind last night. I thought Heyman might of even come out after Storm got sqaushed, but yeah, I think it's going to go down real soon.
