Cool. RoH usually do these things quite well, at least they used to, not paid attention for quite a while.

Obviously I'm guessing it'll just be an in-ring promo where he'll talk about Owen, thanking the fans for support etc. I saw this nine years ago at a WCW house show in the UK.

Bret did that at WWA's 'The Reckoning' pay-per-view in 2003 in Auckland, New Zealand. It got by far the biggest, most heartfelt reaction i've ever seen live, and i say that as a professional musician who's seen many many events and performers.

Whether or not people will be as keen to see that in 2009.. I don't know. Personally I'd take Bret over Cena & friends any day of the week :)

I don't so what Taker707 did so bad. Sounds like a bunch of people trying to pick up an easy flame.
It does count as a return to wrestling since he's going to appear on a wrestling show. It will be taped, and ROH is the number 3 promotion.
He didn't say he'd be wrestling.

So he made an ambiguous, potentially misleading thread title to get your attention. Welcome to the way of the world.

Nobody else would let him bitch and complain on television?

I like it when ROH gets guys like this. Some people complain about the "waste of money" or whatever, but you just know that a Canadian show with Bret Hart at it is going to draw people in. It also lends the promotion a lot of credibility.

Guys like Mick Foley, Ricky Steamboat, Ric Flair and Bret Hart being involved really put them over as more than just your average independent fed, in my opinion, and a casual fan seeing those names associated with ROH could get more interested in the product.

I'd love to see Bret Hart put someone over at the show. He might just do a little speech or something, but having Jimmy Jacobs, or someone, talk about how it's time for Bret Hart to move out, stop with the whinging and the same old shit, etc. could be a great heat machine for them that can carry into a great pay-off. Have Bret Hart find someone in ROH that he thinks has the goods (which is a massive up in credibility), and have him manage them for the night.

Jimmy Jacobs or Austin Aries vs. Brent Albright, Kenny Omega or Bryan Danielson?

I wish I could go. I'd do anything to meet Bret, and I've always wanted to go to Canada, but I suspect that'd be pretty pricy. I wish Bret would come back to Texas. He was in Denton which is like three hours from where I'm at last fall, but I didn't know that until a few days ago. I wanted to hang myself with the good towels when I read that.

No, I'm not saying that to be funny, or to keep the meme alive. Seriously, shut up.

What Would Kevin Do?

I wouldn't be surprised if someone does that, and Kevin Steen comes to his aid. If that happens, I wouldn't be surprised if we see double sharpshooters.

That would actually make the most sense. Especially considering how close Kevin Steen has gotten to the ROH World Title before, and how much ROH seems to love using him.
