View Full Version : Mirko Cro Cop returns to the UFC
He is fighting Mustapha Al Turk at UFC 99 in Cologne.
I'll be continuing my streak of never seeing Cro Cop win a fight by attending this show too.

I'm more intregued how 'much' he will get paid now, than for seeing the fight.
From what I hear, he is gonna be making similar numbers to last time. Just a shorter contract.

I will be cheering for a left high kick by Cro Cop.

I'm hoping he does better than his last UFC run, but its hard for him to do any worse.

That whole "I didn't train for the cage" thing was bullshit.. He got dominated and it saddened me as a long time Pride fan..

wtf is it with my favorite fighters having disappointing downfalls. First Sakuraba, now Cro Cop. Jesus. Maybe I'll become a fan of a fighter who already sucks. Then I can't really get let down.

Plus, Cro Cop has been in some brutal, demanding fights, and those start to take a on you after a while.

LIVER KICK
The fight might not happen now.

Why is that?
Turk doesn't want the fight apparently. Cro Cop hasn't signed his contract yet either.

Cro Cop Returns against Al-Turk on UFC 99 Card in Germany
After weeks of speculation, the news is finally official – international (http://www.ufc.com/#) superstar Mirko Cro Cop is returning to the UFC. One of the most feared strikers in MMA history, the 34-year old resident of Zagreb, Croatia will be taking on England’s Mostapha Al-Turk in main card action on June 13th’s UFC 99 card at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne, Germany.
The 2006 PRIDE Open Weight Grand Prix champion, Cro Cop (24-6-2) holds wins over Wanderlei Silva, Josh Barnett, Hidehiko Yoshida, Mark Coleman, Kevin Randleman, Kazushi Sakuraba, and Heath Herring. And though he only went 1-2 in his first UFC stint in 2007, he is unbeaten in three straight bouts since then and is looking forward to making a run for the UFC crown his second time around.
Don't be surprised if The Turk still pulls out. They got two fighters on standby in the event of this.

cro cop
I personally didn't have a doubt about Cro Cop fighting because they needed to sell more tickets and I think they sold over 1000 in the last 2 days because of his fight being announced. I still have my doubts on Al Turk fighting though. Don't be surprised if Tim Hague, Pat Berry or Antoni Hardonk ends up fighting Cro Cop on this show.

Al turk is all over ufc.com saying how hes going to beat cro cop
When was the last time you heard someone going into a fight saying "I'm gonna get my face smashed in"?

There wasn't a doubt in my head. I never even heard of the contract issue until about 10 before I wrote about him. Everything I heard before then had to do with Cro Cop getting a change of opponent. I still have doubts on the fight happening (which is what I said from the start). Cro Cop will be fighting regardless.
