Tom Brandi doesn't get the credit he deserves for being worthy of his own wing in the Wrestlecrap Hall of Fame. The real honor? He did it without any gimmick. You can talk about your Salvatore Sincere being a crap gimmick, but from bell to bell it's the Tom Brandi show in the ring, and it's a stinkfest. Specifically in the selling ability. Brandi has two selling abilities. "No-sell" and "over-sell". In this first gem from Shotgun Saturday Night we see a face Tom Brandi taking on Intercontinental Champion Rocky Maivia. Some great moments to look out for: Brandi's selling a DDT like it's the end of the match then popping up, popping right up from the People's Elbow (it wasn't the People's Elbow then, so he gets the honor of being one of the few men to be able to do that), rolling out of the ring immediatley after taking the Rock Bottom (and the terrible taking of it).

Luckily enough, we have Brandi facing again, Rocky Maivia! This time we get to see the face/heel roles reversed. Things to watch out for: overselling the entire match and Brandi fucks up a roll thru.

Tom Brandi wrestles as the patriot in the ny/nj area. He's pretty much famous around those parts for doing double duty just so he can get paid twice. Oh, and no one buys any of his merch.

I guess you can say this is my favorite Tom Brandi match. I like the way they talk about his feud with Mero in the Rumble and he lasted like 20 secs and didnt fight him. He was a pretty big guy, I like the way he blocks the hip toss and sells the low blow and TKO nicely.
