I don't mind him talking, but I don't get the fucking heavy breathing shit he's doing between words.... It doesn't sound savage, it sounds like he's totally winded.

What most of you are missing, is that the Idea that he is a Savage from the Jungles of Samoa is thrown out the window when he starts speaking English.

Learning a new language shows he is intelligent and domesticated, not some crazy savage.

Umaga has always shown intelligence in his wrestling matches. Compared to a guy like Kamala who couldn't even figure out that you were supposed to pin a guy while he was on his back, not his stomach. Maybe the screaming and jibberish was just a head game Umaga was playing. Either way, it's far too early to tell if you hate it or not. He's done it one time for about one minute.

Really, tho, I was fine with him talking until he said "I'm issuing you a challenge". Wrong. I can buy that he talks, but he doesn't talk like that.

LOL, that was exactly what I was thinking.

At first, I was reluctant about Umaga talking, just because he is meant to be a savage, but this is the first step towards rising Umaga above the limits of a cartoon character. Suddenly his tribal shit seems more like homage and mind games than anything legitimate.

It's also fascinated me from a storyline point. "Why?" is such a big question in this feud. Why is Umaga so fixated on Punk? Why does he want to fight him again after already beating him at Judgment Day? Why did Umaga choose Punk to first speak English to.

They're a bit of an odd pairing (although apparently their matches have been good), but they could use this "Umaga's obsession" storyline to really get these two over as fire and ice for the next few months, and throw them together for random matches as well known rivals for years.

Talking wouldn't be the headgame -- the whole Samoan tribal shit would be. The Undertaker speaking isn't the mind game, it's his entire character. Why choose to speak to CM Punk first? I don't have a clue, but that is why this program with CM Punk could get really juicy.

I absolutely love the PUnk/Umaga Program. This is a chance to really get these two over. Umaga has main evented before, and PUnk has a MITB shot to his credit. But this gets to elevate Punk as a face going against a JObber to the Stars, and Umaga can get back into his Bulldozer groove. I like it, I LIKE IT!!

I don't really care if he talks or not, but if he's going to he should probably have at least somewhat of an accent. But whatever. WWE doesn't keep managers around for long so Umanga talking was inevitable.
