Like songs that you like now but you heard the cover before the original.
The Boys of Summer (Ataris/Don Henly)
Ice Box (There For Tomorrow/Omarion)
Apologize (Silverstein/OneRepublic)
I must have a sheltered indie punk/metal life because I didn't hear these songs until the covers lol

I went to a show one time and the band did all punk covers of punk covers. It was pretty bad ass. The guitarist was wearing a studded belt.

I remember hearing a cover of Blitzkreig Bop before the original. Don't know who did it.
There's the obvious Hendrix version of "All Along the Watchtower," because I knew Hendrix before Dylan.
And Type O Negative's cover of "Cinnamon Girl" because I'd never really been into Neil Young. Speaking of Neil Young, I heard the Alarm's cover of "Rockin' in the Free World" before the original, but that's because I was eight and my Dad was a fan of Welsh rockers.

Straylight Run's cover of Joanna Newsom's "Peach, Plum, Pear". Original version is godawful.

Not sure if this is completely on topic, but I fucking hate that people think Aerosmith did 'Dream On' originally. Even when Queen's version is played on the radio, some DJ's say Aerosmith.

I'll just put you out of your misery before Hanso kills you - Queen do not have a song called Dream On. The song is an Aerosmith original that just happens to sound very little like the stuff the band have become most famous for. Suppose you could argue it sounds a bit like Queen. Although if anything it sounds like Led Zep, imo.
Either way, you've still got a hell of lot of egg on your face.

Also, Sweetbox did a nice remake of Always on My Mind. Not to mention that Willie Nelson remade the song from Elvis. And throw in the Pet Shop Boys on this remake train too.
