View Full Version : WWE Breaking Point: yay or gay
After over a decade, the Unforgiven ppv is being renamed as Breaking Point, which will be a submission themed ppv. So IYO: Yay or gay? (mobile post)

Depends on how they do it. One or two submission matches are not a big deal.

Mobile post? Before I answer your question I want to know where you posted from.
Guru Dave, are you aware that Pay Per View telecasts are not capable of being homosexual?

It could be good, but I hope not every match is a submission match, hopefully just the main event

Yeah, only the 'main event's are going to be submission matches, apparently.
Breaking Point was the name I was gonna pick out of the choices we had earlier, so its OK by me.

I dont feel bad its replacing Unforgiven.....Unforgiven and No Mercy sound the same to me for some reason
This would be great if the WWE had any excellent technical wrestlers in the main event scene. If the Submission Matches are featuring the likes of John Cena, Batista, Randy Orton, Triple H (his technical days seem to be far gone) and Edge, I really don't know what we're going to be looking at here.
Benoit versus any of those names would've made sense because he's hardcore technical and has great submission skills. There isn't a Benoit or a Hart left in the WWE main event scene. CM Punk is as close as they come, and perhaps Jericho vs. Punk or Edge vs. Punk could be a great submission match, but there's very little else.
John Cena vs. anyone in a submission match just screams boring to me.

Yea it's just like how the next ppv Extreme Rules, all the matches are gonna be contested under extreme rules :shifty:
Man, pretty soon they'll have an all-cage match PPV....

At least they're switching up names. One of the minor things I always liked about WWF was how their ppvs (outside of the big 5), switched their names up.
In the past 8 or so years, they haven't done that. I hope they keep this up, regardless of the names.
I always thought it was lame that WCW didn't change around its rotation.
I always thought it was lame that WCW didn't change around its rotation.
I thought the opposite when I was a kid. I thought WCW's constant PPV names gave them more value and history. Arguments that the WWF had "the big 5" were unable to dissuade my 11-year old mind.

Yeah, I pretty much agree with this. It would have been awesome back in the heyday of Benwho and Kurt Angle.
The only guy left who has a submission finisher in Chris Jericho.
And I guess, John Cena, but that's not like a real submission.

Since this is WWE, the main event will probably end up being Triple H VS Great Khali in a 30 minute ultimate submission match (Iron Man match).

The name is alright..... but I would rather have kept the name Unforgiven and have it replace The Bash..... the idea makes sense.... but only for wrestlers who actually have a submission move in their arsenal.... like Jericho (Walls of Jericho), Edge (Edgecator/Sharp Shooter), Punk (Anaconda Vice), Cena (STF)...... they can't really book guys like Jeff Hardy, Batista, Randy Orton or Triple H in the matches as they are not seen as real submission type wrestlers.....

WWE The Bash should be all Last Man Standing matches.

The only way I could see some of them using submission moves are: Batista and HBK using the figure-4, Triple H using the crossface, not to sure about Randy or Jeff. The only reason I named those 3 is because I have seen them us it in the past.
I hope not.
It's OK: he was only kidding.

Breaking Point is not a bad name, but it sounds like a lot of other PPVs. Unforgiven was not very outstanding, though, so I'm glad it's going. I actually think submissions make more sense for the entire card -- if only because most of the submission wrestlers are lower on the card.

Ya know, I didn't wanna go here, and be "THIS GUY" or anything, but I can't hold back any longer. Breaking Point sounds like a TNA pay-per-view name to me, especially given that they have one named Turning Point (in TNA).
