Twilight Princess is one of the best looking games ever. I beat it and I'm trying to do everything and I started playing it again. It is so good.
Dunno about New Super Mario Bros Wii. Kinda need to "legitimately" beat the original one. Something 2 do this summer. For some reason I am not really excited about this.

I'm not as excited about the game as I should be considering I'm a life long Nintendo fan and a big one at that. The game looks cool and I'll probably get it.
A rumour/spoiler about the game: The Koopalings, Bowsers kids, are supposedly returning in the game. If that's true then I'll be a little more excited about the game.

it is easy, but I am having so much trouble with this level where you have to race this dude. Honestly, holding the WII Remote for any game is pretty difficult for me and that level, you have to move it around just right. I feel like my dad when I was like 14 and he couldn't understand the N64 Controller.

Can't tell if the screen pushes you automatically or if it moves with the players. Hate it so much when the screen pushes you, or doesn't let you go back in the level. Seems to be elements from many Mario games in this so that's cool.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii will be the first Nintendo game to use "kind code" - computer-assisted aid if you can't beat a section - for one very good reason: It's reportedly the most hardcore Mario game in years.
MTV Multiplayer's Russ Frushtick got some hands-on time with this fall's New Super Mario Bros. Wii at a press event in New York City, and the verdict? It's hard. Like, really hard - Contra hard, even.
You remember those ghost house levels from "Super Mario World" where you had to stay on the moving platform and it slowly chugged past ghosts and other obstacles? Ok, imagine that, but turn the platform into a slavering bone dragon and speed it up by about 3 times. Oh, and throw on three other homicidal friends who would rather jump on your head than let you make a perfectly timed jump. I went in expecting instant success, I left with zero lives and a lower sense of self worth.
This game's difficulty comes thanks to the inclusion of the "Super Guide" feature, which lets the computer (playing as Luigi) handle the trickier parts for gamers who can't make that one goddamn jump before resuming control - though apparently, the option won't unlock until you've tried and died a few times already.
Thanks to the "Super Guide," the developers no longer had to account for the lowest common denominator of player skill, but I'm not sure that that's actually true. If the game is truly this hard, aren't the less-skilled among us going to be playing the entire game on autopilot? I'd much rather something like Bayonetta's Automatic Mode, where the game handled the jumps and movement and left us to the combat.
Though, it is a Mario game. I guess the jumps are the combat.
Article here (http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/95316-New-Super-Mario-Bros-Wii-Reportedly-Wicked-Hard).
If it really is as hard as it's being claimed, then excellent. I'm all for this optional assistance for other players if it leaves the game as a challange for those that want it.
I've not seen any evidence of the game being hard, though. It so far looks about the same difficulty as NSMB on the DS.

NSMBW is due out in 8 days in the UK and we are getting a limited edition version but no matter where I look, I can't find a list of what is in the LE. Anyone know?
It can't just be because it comes in a tin box.

If its anything like the Metroid Prime Trilogy set, probably an art book and bonus stuff on the game disc or a bonus dvd. The game's case is basically all red and not white like a normal Wii game box.

The regular edition is all red. The LE is white like every other Wii game and comes in a tin box. No idea whats inside other than the game but I think its UK only. It probably will just be artwork or something.

None of my friends have a Wii (or ar really into gaming at all anyway. It's more my "thing"). Those that do have a Wii only really got it because of all that hype last year and wouldn't be interested in coming over for a Mario session, I'd imagin.

NSMBW is out today and I picked it up this morning. I paid an extra £5 for the LE and there is nothing extra in it.
It's just the game in the red case in a tin. No artwork or DVD or even a poster.
I paid £5 for a tin Mario money box, basically.
Typing this on my Wii so I'm going to get back to the game now. Only on World 2 and I already have 26 lives.

Multi player is pretty fun
Drakul
11-21-2009, 07:40 AM
Yeah multiplayers fun but with only 2 players, we were co-operating the whole time. Wouldn't mind a 4-player every man for himself play through.
Finished the game this morning with 90+ lives. The game isn't as hard as they said it would be but still fun.
The Bowser battle is pretty cool and now I just have to get all the star coins to unlock the levels in World 9.
Emperor Smeat
11-22-2009, 02:52 AM
The trick with the difficulty in multiplayer is only 1 person needs to reach the end of the level. So if you have 1 person with a lot of lives, it makes it easier overall but more chaotic since there are more people to deal with.
In single player its basically 1 life per level and if you die its back to beginning or to checkpoint.
Drakul
11-22-2009, 03:03 AM
I finished it solo, not in multiplayer. I wasn't clear on that.
Played multiplayer again and it's much better when each player is trying to screw the others over. Had some genuine moments of laughing out loud at it.
I'm wondering if they'll release another side scrolling Mario game. They are churning out the sequels a lot more regularly than they used to.
