WWE has re-signed Chris Mordetzky, professionally known as Chris Masters.

Mordetzky had a long talk with Vince McMahon (reportedly, a one hour meeting) at last week's television tapings in Los Angeles. He notified promoters yesterday he was canceling bookings due to his return to the promotion.

Mordetzky's return to World Wrestling Entertainment should break some interesting ground as he was released on November 8, 2007 following a second violation of the company's Substance Abuse and Drug Policy. Should Mordetzky be suspended during his second stint in the company, we'll find out if previous suspensions still stand when a talent is signed to a new contract following a period where they were not employed by WWE. A third drug testing violation would result in termination, according to the policy.

No word yet on when exactly he will return to television, but it is said to be imminently.

I have no real feelings about this. I felt the WWE releasing him because they pushed him as a muscle-bound idiot and then took him off the gas was a bit rough. Thought the guy had potential, he was just way too young and way too green to make everything out of his simple and worn-out gimmick.

Part of me is afraid that Masters being signed is just a way to sabotage the greatness of SmackDown!, though. :shifty:

It would be great if since his last time in WWE he'd become one technical badass motherfucker like Kurt Angle, and come in and just wrestle the shit out of everyone.

Not gonna happen. :(

I think that the weight loss will do him good. There were some parts of his move-set that I actually really enjoyed. I think that he can do well if he's got some mentoring. One of my favorites was when he was wrestling Yang and Yang went for a high flying move and Masters just pulled him out of the air.

He has potential, as much as it pains me to say.

He was too young and green for what they did with him the first time. I hope he's improved his in ring ability and I hope WWE lets him do more in the ring... provided he can. He's young enough to learn and probably become entertaining if he can for a few more years in that company.

Regardless I'm meh about this. Unless he can go in the ring, or at least learn how to work a crowd, I won't give a crap about him.

Fuck it, stick him on-screen with William Regal. And have Regal train with Masters behind the scene. William Regal & Young Master Masters could make a pretty interesting duo.

The dude headlined a PPV. I wouldn't say he was doing horribly. Still think it was unfair he was released, and not just demoted back to developmental.

No, he should have been fired. If an Olympic gold medalist gets caught using steroids, do they give him the silver medal instead?

Fox

I wonder if they'll continue to call him "The Masterpiece?" I mean, without the 'roids the nickname is kind of ridiculously unfitting.

Um, has the WWE fired John Cena, Batista or Triple H? Chris Masters still had one strike left. If he violated that, then I'd agree with you.

Masters got suspended three times, I think.

Triple Naitch
06-06-2009, 10:34 PM
After this, Masters entered the hunt for the WWE Intercontinental Championship (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WWE_Intercontinental_Championship) but would soon be suspended by WWE. Before being suspended, Masters was on the May 22 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/May_22) edition of Raw, losing a match to John Cena by submission to the STF-U.[34] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Mordetzky#cite_note-33) He would return to the ring during an OVW TV taping on August 6. He had lost much of his muscle mass, appearing much slimmer, although he still had some definition in his arms and abdomen.

Masters was suspended for 30 days for failing a drug test. Masters returned to SmackDown! on the October 5 edition, applying the Master Lock to Chuck Palumbo.

On November 2 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Mordetzky#cite_note-54), 2007, it was reported on WWE's official website that Masters had been suspended for 60 days for having violated WWE's Substance Abuse and Drug Policy a second time.

The first may not have been under the Wellness Policy, but I think it was still just enough.
