Y2J Forgets Belt

A few sharp-eyed readers sent word that at last night's WWE Smackdown house show in Hershey, PA it appeared as if Chris Jericho was trying to hide the Intercontinental championship when he came to the ring and wasn't wearing it per usual.

Well, there's a good reason for that. Jericho carried the WWE Women's championship (with some electrical tape masking what the title was) to the ring for his match.

The word going around the wrestlers was that Jericho had accidentally forgotten to pack the Intercontinental championship with him, leaving it in his hotel room when he left for the house show.

While there was no heat on Jericho for it, it led to some ribbing from the other workers on the show.

I went to a house show in 1994 where The King of Harts Owen Hart was on the card but they must have forgot his music so he ended up coming out to Bret's original theme. The crowd was confused, but Owen played it off like he didn't notice. I don't think Bret was on the card so they were lucky to have any Hart music on hand.

I'd love to see an angle where the champion hides the belt. He puts in in a black carrying case, brings it to the ring, but always keeps it in the case. Why? "If you want to boo your champion, then you don't deserve to see the title!"

Why didn't they just give him a replica belt they sell at stands, and then have him autograph it and sell it on their auction site for a shitload of money (and they don't even have to mention that he wore it at a house show when he forgot the real belt).
