I don't get it. They soiled his name thru a barrage of weird storylines?

Are people fucking idiots?

It comes down to simple politeness. They couldn't have done anything else than those dumb fucking storylines they did?

BTW, no offense to Eddy, but this is all the rant of someone never a real big fan of his but hated how WWE handled his passing.

:nono:

Keeping Eddies name in story lines sold more Eddie T-Shirts. The profits of those shirts went to Eddie's widow and children. So to me, I know I would have been cool with it. Dunno.

If you can't put up with ridiculous(and controversial) storylines sometimes, then really, its best not to watch WWE at all.

Not to mention that he was made into a more legendary wrestler (which I, whole-heartedly, feel he deserved) thanks to their constant promotion of him post mortem.

Rather than calling it posthumous exploitation, I'd rather see it as him getting all the pushes he ever deserved... all at once... after he died...

And his death gave us the best heel ever to pull a mic up to her lips and go...

"EXCUSE ME!"

I want to repeat for the ten thousandth time that we're talking about a man who participated in a storyline where he revealed that his best friend's son was, in fact, his own bastard child that he had conceived with some slut, and went on to terrorize said family and finally participated in a match to decide custody of the child.

Now consider the nature of the "soiling" of Eddie's legacy. One of the sadder things about the smartening of wrestling fans is that too few people seem to realize that THAT IS THE KIND OF THING HEELS DO. The whole thing is just pathetically markish. As has been pointed out, the Gurrerros didn't exactly starve over it all.

I'm just glad they didn't try to do anything except the memorial when it came to Benoit. The only good WWE did with Eddie after his death was the memorial show, which, touching as it was, should have been the end of talk of him in WWE. That is the main reason I was so disgusted with Vickie. Also, I seem to recall that the timing couldn't have been more tragic/unfortunate for Chavo's career, as it seemed he might've soared to new heights with his Kerwin White gimmick ("If it ain't White, it ain't right."), which I thought if he'd been able to continue and not go back to being plain ol' Chavito, he could have at least had maybe a short IC or US title run by now...

And now, play 'em off, touching tribute song...

Just to clear things up, that was in reference to Chavo's career, not Eddie. And I wasn't joking. I think he would've gotten a serious fucking push by now, honest...:-\

We'll never know, but I was serious when I said that.

Zachary. If somebody will buy it, Vince will sell it. A fine tradition that goes back before the first geek shows.

And just to clarify from my end... you really think that Kerwin White would have ended up somewhere other than the heap of discarded gimmicks that includes Simon Dean, Rico, the Dicks, and whatever the hell you want to call that thing Rob Conway was doing just before he got FE'ed?

Did I get quickly fed up with Rey Mysterio and Chavo Guerrero's constantly reminding us of their fallen friend/uncle? Yes. Did I find it in poor taste that Randy Orton said he was going to send Rey Mysterio down to hell with Eddie? Yes. And did I shake my head with displeasure when Vickie Guerrero became this despicable pig-whore character? Yes.

But when Eddie's wife goes along with it I realize that I am no one to say anything about "what was right or what was wrong" when the people closest to him went along with it, even acted it out for us.

Still, if I were speaking to Ms. Guerrero about her storyline with Edge which involved sexual situations, making out with lots of tongue on camera and basically being a complete whore-bag, and she said that "Eddie would have wanted it this way," I think I would have to call bullshit on that.

eddie was still under contract with the wwe, and vince doesnt let a little thing like death stop him from making money, infact i think he liked it because he didnt have to pay eddie his wages.
