It belongs here.

R.I.P.

A cliche line, but seriously:

There will not be another MJ. He owned like nobody's business. :'(

Sound off.

I'm glad there won't be another. RIP, though.

Anyone heard from Heyman?

I will not lie, I did sing "Beat It" last time at Karaoke.

And, because it's Karaoke, I had to go all out with the dance moves.

I will now sit here and be ridiculed...

End of an era, really.

I really feel that if the phrase "finally at peace" ever meant anything, it's probably now. And I fear we're about to experience something that will make the Anna Nicole thing look entirely tame...

Why is it that I find out about shit that I should be seeing everywhere on TPWW?

Wow, can't believe MJ is dead. Personal demons aside, the man re-defined pop music and made a watchable artform of it. He could move like nobody before or since, and had vocal control and charisma in spades, until he became a weird little shut-in.

But, paraphrasing from High Fidelity here, it may not be fair to let his later failures and de-railment eclipse or overshadow what he actually achieved despite it all.

Yeah I grew up listening to him. Had the white glove and everything. Personal shit aside, RIP.

Love how people take celeb's actions outside the movie set/music studio/whatever to heart. Like I'd be a fan of MJ for any reason other than his skills as an entertainer. "MJ's a weirdo," "Christian Bale's a jerk," "Kanye West is a dick..." Keep up the character judgment, people, it must really help you enjoy one's work.

It could be totally true, but I could give a shit about that. That doesn't add or subtract from what I get from them.

The guy was an amazing talent the likes of which rarely comes around.

Celebrity is such a strange thing. A guy like this that has all the talent in the world seemingly never got to enjoy his gifts because of his personal problems.

If he really was a pedophile (which he probably was) it's difficult to have sympathy for him. If he was it's sad that he had such sick urges but he should have contained himself.

I've never been a fan of his music but I can recognize when someone has talent. He's the biggest name in music since Elvis, and he is certainly one of the greatest of all time. I hope he rests in peace, he gave a lot to this world unfortunatly it looks like the cost was his life.

Fuck Micheal Jackson, he got away with being a child molester because he was rich.

Now, I know I have a very odd sense of humor for a place such as this; nonetheless, I hope everyone here can accept my coping with MJ's death through a couple of parody tributes. And I honestly do hope they bring a laugh or 2, or at least a smile, to your faces...

I was molested by (insert random celebrity name) when I was a boy. When (random celebrity) dies I want you all to remember this moment, and even though (random celebrity) will never be charged, because I'm lying, I want you to spend the rest of your life KNOWING SECOND HAND that (random celebrity) is a child molester. And it must be true, because YOU know it is.

Also, there is nothing at all to completely indicate that he had sex with any kids. I don't know if you could tell, but he wasn't the most mentally coherent person of all time.

I never really liked Michael Jackson and he never had an influence in my life.

I agree. But I enjoyed his work, not his life. Just imagine if I took that stuff to heart? All the rock bands with drug issues? Sports stars with sexual offenses?

Find role models elsewhere, dude. They are people who provide entertainment, that is all.

Drug issues are different than molesting kids. And as for the sexually offending sports stars, they can all die and go to hell also.

My point is, I don't care about their lives outside of their craft. If Hitler made Street Fighter 4 I'd still play it.

Yeah, just because OJ murdered his wife and lover, and robbed some people didn't mean he was any less of a player on the gridiron. No different with Michael Jackson. If you can't realize that you're just ignorant.

Gonzo with the one-shot to Kalyx's argument. :$

Not the ignorant comment part, but the OJ thing. I guess the same could be said for Phil Spector because MAN CAN THAT GUY PRODUCE.

Michael Jackson fancied himself a real PT Barnum. He got exactly what he was looking for...Attention...Publicity...Where's the problem?

It absolutely means they get respect.

That's why I respect him, his contributions to music. That's it. Where's the complicated part of this?

You got a point. By the same measure, OJ wasn't found guilty, so DAMN YOUSE YOUSE JUDGMENTAL PRICKS!

On the other hand, I support letting Spector go because he's brilliant, so....
