Anyone play this?
I downloaded the 10 day Trial and love it. Its on sale for 9 bucks for the full game, and 9 bucks a month to play.
Very fun game, very well done, with new content unlocking all the time.

I played the trail awhile back. Was fun at first, then I lost interest.

I'm gonna go ahead and guess that this will be just as successful as Age of Conan or Warhammer or The Matrix Online or any other stupid MMORPG that tries to usurp WoW. Just a hunch.

Actually, no one has ever called LoTR Online a "WoW Killer" like they did with AoC, War.

I know, I just assume that every shitty MMO that comes out is trying to set forth and do such.

It's actually fairly sucessful, been out about two years now and is bucking the trend the others have with Subscription rates that are rising, although I don't think it's rising by a huge amount.
It's nowhere near as big as WoW obviously but nothing will be for a long time.

I played up until about the high 30s, eventually got bored with it.
Probably would have been more interesting if I'd gotten more involved in trying to find groups so I could have done more of the big/storyline quests. I might wander back to it some day, even if only to give the new classes they introduced in the expansion a go and to see how the changes they've made to the introductory sections for new characters play out.

Yeah, I can see that. Luckily I play with 2 friends, so we have a decent group to do most content right away.

Its been out 2 years. Not sure what you are getting at.
They are always adding new content, just lowered prices, and relaunched for a 2 year anniversary, so they are gaining subscribers. It will never be WOW< nothing will be, but that doesn't mean it isnt a good MMO or successful.
So should no one make games if they cant beat WOW?

I played the beta, then bought it when it launched, but I can't stay in it for more than a few months at a time, I'm not that much of an MMO guy I guess, I just get the urge to play them every so often.

That sometimes happens to me, one of the problems I have is theres always a series of levels that are just dull as fuck to get through. The ones before are fine, the ones after are generally fine it's just usually 5-10 levels that are incredibly dull. For me I think it was the 30s in LOTRO. In WoW I think the 40s were dull for me.
Anyway, I just hit level 19, got took through the Great Barrows by one of the high levels in my Kinship. For anyone in the UK that wants to try this out, PM me as I can send out referrels.

My biggest problem with any MMO isn't the game, but the players.
When my scrapper is primary DPS I cannot be primary tank. If the tank cannot hold argo then he's useless.
