So yeah, if anyone has ever payed attention to me you'd realize I <3 Queen. Am I alone on here? Any other Queen fans up in hurr?

One of my favorite bands ever. Freddie Mercury has got to be one of, if not THE, best front man of all time. My first encounter with them was when I was about 11 and my uncle had aVHS of them playing live in London at Hyde Park. I've been a fan ever since.

My favorite song is Killer Queen.

But since Brian and Roger are awesome on their own, I guess it doesn't matter too much.

Inneuendo is one of my favorite albums, period.

I don't think I have met anyone who doesn't actually like Queen.

I like them, although all I have is the 3Disc Platinum Collection and the Live At Wembley/Return Of The Champions DVD so I would actually like to expand my collection, so anyone who can recomend some of their albums to get it would be appreciated.

I am a HUGE fan of Queen. It's my dad's fault. When I was growing up, my dad modelled his own moustache on that of Freddy Mercury.

One of the best bands ever - I never get sick of listening to Queen. They have a song for every occasion.

I remember taking my VCR down to the lounge of my college dorm and chasing everyone - even the football players - away so that I could tape the Farewell Concert on MTV.

To this day I'm upset with myself that I couldn't get the finances together to go see the Queen + Paul Rodgers tour. I was way too young to go when they came to the US in the 80s, so that was my only chance to see even 3 members alive.

I still love the irony from the Wembly '86 album where Freddie said "We're gonna stay together until we fucking well die, I'm sure."

What irony? By that time Mercury knew he had AIDS, and the doctors actually told him he'd be dead well before he actually died.

Or is this ironic in the same sense the song Ironic is ironic because nothing in it is actually ironic?

Freddie didnt find out he had AIDS until 1987. I am a very big Queen Fan, I've even gone to the Queen Fan Club in Barnes, London. It used to be down Pembroke Road but they moved it in 1993. I've been a fan since I was a little kid. But yeah Queen is awesome and Freddie Mercury is the greatest entertainer ever and not that Michael Jackson pedo. Oh, the best Queen song is March of the Black Queen/Funny How Love is off Queen II--way underrated album.

Anyway, while I like Queen 2, Funny How Love Is doesn't do it for me.

JC--Depends on what you're looking for.

Queen (Self Titled) is one I love for that raw, unpolished sound. You won't hear this again, since by Queen 2 they became far more polished. Or Polish.

Queen 2 is one of my favorites, with that whole concept album vibe. It's another instance of the Tolkeinesque fantasy that turned D&D nerds everywhere into metal artists.

Innuendo is pretty damn good from start to finish. Could live without Delilah, but really, it doesn't hurt the record.

If you want another live disc, On fire--Live at the Bowl will espose you to more tracks, including some of the better Hot Space ones. A lot of Queen fans hate (relatively) Hot Space and the Game, but both have their strong points. Back Chat is a fun fucking song, I don't care if it's not their normal fare.

Live Killers has a lot of my favorites live, but the fact that it's played at like half volume pisses me off.

Best eighties albumes are probably The Miracle and A Kind of Magic.

So it kinda depends on what you want.

I am somewhat of a fan of theirs and actually own 2 of their albums on vinyl

-Got a cool Queen t-shirt with their logo and name plus We Will Rock You on it

It's kinda weird how We Are The Champions and We Will Rock You have become sports anthems now

Also yes to Brian and Roger being the tits and Innuendo (both the track and album) are immense.

I'd say the fact that Brian wrote it as a solo project (his words), recorded it as a solo project (his words) and only put it out under Queen (with re-recorded vocals so Roger had a verse) when they wanted an unreleased track for Rocks, vol 1 (His words) would certainly be a more compelling argument than lack of Freddie.

Note I didn't say "The Loser in the End" wasn't Queen.

Or "Sleeping on the Sidewalk."

Or "Someday One Day."

Or "All Dead, All Dead." Though the last two have backing vocals by Mercury.

Retroactively slapping the name "Queen" on something, however, does not make it Queen.

I actually knew all that, still it was realesed queen. Beyond the technicality Roger changed some lyrics in the chorus (flying too close to the sun bit) and changed it from being about princess dianna to being more broad. Well didn't change it as much as told brian it owuld be better that way and then Brian re-wrote it parts taking out the Dianna refferences.

So def a Queen song for my money.
