This is one WW2 game I can dig, because it's BATTLEFIELD. We gotta squad up.
We sure can, if it works.

Yeah I heard there were a lot of tech issues. Probably be fixed in a week.
I've been checking every now and then with the counter for the new map. It's like every time I refresh, 100k kills gets added. New map should be here pretty darn soon.

I played the demo, couldn't really get into it with only 30 minutes of play time. Wish I could rent it. Had fun flying the planes, but don't want to waste the money just to do that.
Planes are awesome. I just hate when someone is flying behind you shooting at you. I just want to do fly-byes and dropping loads and shit. I really hated the game at first, but after putting some time in it and knowing what the fuck everything is, I absolutely love it. Are the other Battlefield games like this?

Most Battlefield games play similarly, but there are some differences.
- Battlefield 2 for console was a stripped down port of the PC version. No planes, just choppers.
- Bad Company is a battlefield made for console play. No planes again, but choppers and some great effects. The destructible objects in 1943 came from Bad Company, though scaled down.
- Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2 uses variations of the Battlefield engine.
- There's a futuristic Battlefield game for PC with mechs and shit.
- More recently, Battlefield Heroes is a free-to-play game with a kiddy look.

Battlefield 3 is also confirmed for PC.
So if I wanted to try a 360 version, which would you recommend. BC?

Yeah, I'd go with BC. It also has that Gold Rush mode that actually gets pretty fun, and you will have to download the Battlefield standard Conquest mode (lame, takes up space). The controls and interface is pretty much same from 1943 so you could jump right in.

Also, Frontlines: Fuel of War is pretty much the same thing, with some futuristic tech.
Also, from what I hear, this is a pretty stripped down edition. Only 3 classes.
You want the best battlefield experience, play 2, for the pc.

I got Bad Company but haven't gotten around to playing yet. Tried the demo of this ish and it's alright, but I already have Bad Company so why bother?

Frontlines is trash. Unimpressive. Most unimpressive.

Yeah I wanted to get BC but just never had the time. Still don't. I might Goozex it eventually.

If you do, then I will. I have 1200 points to blow. WHAT ARE YOU GONNA GET WITH YOUR 200

I'm going to put them in a savings account
BC is 300 points. The Gold Edition, whatever that is, is 700 points.
If you wanna buy me a $30 code, I'll Goozex you some games. :(
So, after GSing, the Gold Edition comes with
Special “Gold Edition” Packaging
5 Exclusive Weapon Unlocks
Assault Kit Unlock
Recon Kit Unlock
Specialist Kit Unlock
Demolition Kit Unlock
Support Kit Unlock
DVD w/Behind the Scenes content and multiplayer strategy videos
Dunno if those weapon kits are worth an extra $20. Probably not.
I guess I just "bought" BC. Put it in my Goozex queue and was #70 in line, and just now I got an email saying it's being shipped.

It has a story mode if you give a damn (I don't). I do love the multiplayer.
Coral Sea is being unlocked today.

Don't see the point of this game at all, its a castrated battlefield 1942 with prettier graphics and nothing else.

That works. And good games have the privilage to be double-dipped. I doubt there would be an outcry against Zelda:OoT remade with next gen visuals. Let the fans eat cake.

No destroyers that can shell islands or other ships, no subs to take on destroyers\carriers, no carriers that can be moved to a better location. Class system has been dumbed down to the bare minimum.
Whats the saving grace? It looks better? After 7 years i should think so.
Coral Sea is fun. I can see me getting the 100 games played achieve a lot quicker than regular mode, because I love flying which equals more game time from me. :(

To be fair it is just an Xbox Live Arcade game as Kalyx said, it's created for people to very easily just pick up and play. Although I can see your point, for $15 a stripped down BF1942 does seem a tad expensive. It sounds like it's been made to try and catch the audience that arnt really into multiplayer games just yet sort of like Battlefield Heroes is.
I might try this out, been hooked on CoD:WaW lately and I used to love BF2 back in the day so it seems worth a shot.

I'd prolly like it if I didn't play the fuck out of battlefield 2.
But I did, and BC doesn't even compare to BF 2, let alone this.
Okay, cool. Just figured out how to look at your in depth stats.
