I heard of City of Heroes but not this. I'll be trying it out on 360. I hear March is a likely release date.

If that's carried to the 360 version then that's awesome. I've checked out other videos to and I'm a little confused.

It shows different places other than the city so is this game going to have levels or would we pick where we would be stationed or is it one huge open world? I've never played an MMO in my life so I'm not sure how it all goes.

How long after this game is released are TPWWers going to form some kind of Superhero Team?

Would we need to subscribe on the 360? I can understand the need for one on the pc but they wouldn't throw a subscription charge ontop of the charge for a Xbox Live gold membership, right?

The subscription plans for Cryptic's super-powered MMO Champions Online (http://www.joystiq.com/tag/champions-online) were revealed via a pre-order offer the developer just announced (http://www.champions-online.com/exclusive_specials). Potential players who anticipate their prolonged enjoyment of the title can shell out $199.99 for a lifetime subscription to the game, while those desiring a less permanent commitment can sign up for a $59.99 six-month plan. Cryptic explained the latter would normally cost players $89.99 if paid for on a monthly basis -- seeing as how $90 divided by six equals $15, it's safe to assume that'll be the monthly fee for access to the game.

Pre-ordering one of these two subscription plans nets players a whole slew of bonuses, the most desirable of which is access to the closed beta for Star Trek Online (http://www.joystiq.com/tag/star-trek-online), which will take place "later this year." Both plans also garner players an in-game "art deco" costume set -- but lifetime subscribers also get the "retro future" costume set, an in-game Foxbat action figure, eight additional character slots and even an additional costume for STO which will appear in players' inventory at launch. In the business, that's what we like to call "The Works."

All fileplanet does is give you a access to files that are available on about a million other websites. It's all patches and demos for $6 a month.

Console port postponed indefinitely, btw. Microsoft is still being a dick about subscription models. Squenix is having a lot of fun trying to play ball with M$ to have FF14 released on the three major platforms. Ugh.

Assuming a couple things:

1. People want MMOs on consoles. And maybe they do, but most MMOs seem better suited to PC. Now, the same could be argued about FPS, so maybe it'll work out.

2. They actually start putting out more MMOs. Of the recently suspended big ticket MMOs, none of them are planned or out for the PS3. Now, FFwhatever might actually be a big one, but that's only assuming they don't make a deal with Microsoft. I have trouble believing they won't make an exception for Final Fantasy. I really do. FFXI already came out, albeit a couple years late, and that was a subscription based MuhMorPuhGuh.

The point however, remains that for Sony to be the console for MMOs, it would still have to have, you know, MMOs that Microsoft doesn't. I'm going to have to try the PC demo, knowing it's probably never coming out for the 360. To be honest, I can't imagine an Xbox controller being good for an MMO, but my PC isn't really a gaming rig so I tend to opt for console versions.

Oh it can run it - it evens run relatively smoothly, it just looks like crap.

This game is pretty 'meh', tbh.

I got in the closed beta a while back and couldn't stand to play for more than an hour because the combat was so clunky. Just wasn't fun, and the game ran like garbage only a few months prior to release. My PC isn't amazing, but it shouldn't have had nearly as many issues as it did. Otherwise, as said above.. it looks like crap if you turn it down.
