What a bunch of bullshit. Spoilers, obviously.

I mean, wasn't this supposed to be the darkest film of all of them? I remember this being my favorite out of all the books because of that fact alone. I loved it because it built up Voldemort to be the big badass he is.

I thought I remember there being a shit ton more flashbacks showing Voldemort becoming badass. And the book really set the tone that evil forces are gathering and building up and ready to unleash havoc. But the movie didn't even bother. I realized that after like an hour and a half and figured out we were out of time to really build that up.

Instead they went with the love story. I know the love has to begin somewhere and I know they have to spend time on it but come on. It took over the entire movie.

There were other gripes but I can't remember. Just mostly pissed off because there wasn't enough evil involved.

Were you not here for when RDD spoiled the book for someone?

Or was it the other way around and someone spoiled it for RDD?

Either way, it was fucking great.

I'm actually interested to hear what people who did not read the book and only saw the movies opinions are.

I thought it was confusing as hell for those people but we'll see.

I LOVED the books when I was like 12 or whatever. Then the last few came out while I was well over Harry Potter but I read them anyway for the 12 year old in me. IT was good, it is good stuff. These movies are atrocious though. How do the movies even make sense for people that haven't read the books? It doesn't properly follow the exact storyline obviously but come on, it is nothing like the books. FFFFFFFFFFFFF that. Well, they aren't terrible, the younger Harry Potter fanatic in me loves them, but wtf if you never read the books.

Yeah I read the first 4 when I was a kid then grew out of it. Saw all the films on DVD, rented them and what not.

Then I went to see the 5th on in theatres and my friends were saying they cut a bunch out and it inspired me to read the 5th, 6th, and then the 7th came out like the next month or whatever.

The 6th was my favorite book by far. I don't have it though, I have to go borrow it and reread it.

What? I don't recall ever partaking in any spoilage of Harry Potter, be it on the giving or receiving end.

Went and saw The Hangover on Tuesday and ridiculous amounts of 14 year olds were waiting in line for like 4 hours for the midnight showing. Awful.

JAbba spoiled Harry Potter for TPWW poster Bad Guy and many others. Then RDD proceeded to drunkenly ban Jabba and post several hilarious alcohol induced responses.

Oh wait no, I remember now. When the book came out where Snape killed Dumbledore or whatever, TPWW's resident "hilarious controversial" poster NoJabbaNoBogRoll was posting it all over the forum, and then a few people asked me (because I was an admin at the time) to delete it, so I did.

I don't recall being drunk, but it sounds like something I would do.

Might wanna put that in a spoiler tag there, Jabba.

Oh I thought that came out like 4 years ago, and thus anybody who cared would have read it by now, but whatever.

"No...OH WAIT YOU MEAN THE TIME WHEN ..."

Agree with everyone discussing this. It was alright, but focused far too much on the wrong part of the story.

Plus I gotta agree with RoXer though. The past couple of these movies have far too many things just for the people who read the book. They didn't show somethings in full, and therefore I feel the casual fan might feel a little lost.

None the less, as non-casual fan, I was somewhat satisfied.

I thought the ending in the movie was better than the ending in the book. The ending in the book made the bad guys look like jobbers in the movie they looked capable of killing anyone.

I just borrowed the book btw so I'll Finnish it in about a day or whatever.

I was thinking though, since they're splitting the last book into two movies, maybe the first one will "build up" the "dark side" or whatever. Like they can totally throw in the flashbacls in the next movie. In that case, it was alright focusing on a love story on this one.

We'lll see

Dude, anything associated with Harry Potter sucks. I went into Wal Mart today and saw all the Harry Potter movies in a row. My blood boiled and my stomach turned. I just wanted to burn the whole place down.

Anytime someone says Harry Potter, I cringe. How can someone like that sort of thing?

I noticed they did not focus on the half blood prince aspect of this movie
