UFC appear to be getting into the super fights era that happened in Boxing with Tyson/Holyfield & Tyson/Lewis. Do they have a chance of breaking those records (I think the buyrate would be close to 2 million) and who would Lesnar's opponent have to be to beat them? Is there anything that will top UFC 100?

Speaking as a very casual fan of UFC, based on my limited knowledge, I can honestly say that there's no one that I'm aware of that would make me as interested as I was to see Mir again, as I knew he beat him.

I think he had potential drawing ability a couple months back when he was the talk, albeit bad talk, but still talk. That's all kind of faded away now and he'll actuallly have to win good matches to be able to have any kind of drawing power again

If they were gonna do Fedor/Brock. You'd have to bring Fedor in aon a 3 or 4 fight contract. Let him show his stuff on his debut and get the casual guys to know what Fedor is all about. Then you have Fedor and Brock on the same card, but in different fights, maybe even let them say something to each other in the post fight interviews with Joe Rogan. Then you go big with Fedor Brock.

Build it up a little and then you'll get the big buyrate.

Its going to be a long time until we see someone counter his size. There is just no way to do it. He is too big and too strong.

Now, he can be beat by skill...but I dont see even the most skills Light Heavyweight have enough of an advantage to overcome 80 pounds.

not a chance. he already has 30lbs on most guys he fights, which is like a weight class in itself.

of course he is. i'd be very very surprised if you were right on that one. brock will bring in a shitload because of his background in wwe, charisma and the fact he's a beast, so he has the american market about as sewn up as can be. but i think fedor would attract a lot more international interest since anyone who knows anything about heavyweight mma knows he is still the man to beat. it is the sort of dream matchup that brings new fans to the support through word of mouth alone.

tbh i was kind of surprised they didn't try harder to make it happen at ufc 100. that would have been the perfect main event to their most important card ever.

one last thing :$ i don't think you need to build fedor up at all, at least fight wise. if they bring him in they need to hype video the shit out of him for the lesnar/fedor match. fedor finally debuting in ufc + that match = ridiculous ratings.

International market? Their buyrates are North American only.

And you over estimate how popular Fedor is in Europe. He isn't known in Russia. He is known in Japan but was never a draw even when everyone knew he was the best in the world. And the North American's have been building him up more than anyone but the people don't know him. If they ran shows on him and his past fights building up a Lesnar fight then he'd add buys. So would everyone else though in the same situation.

I'd love to believe Fedor and Brock would be the biggest fight of all time. However, it's more realistic to say a rubber match with Mir or a Couture rematch would do bigger business.
