Found this online. It's one of the traps and was shown at ComicCon this year. Here's the link.

Seriously, how far are they going with this? I saw them all except for the latest one, and haven't even made an effort to tbh.

They really churn these movies out, don't they?

G
07-24-2009, 03:57 PM
Well, as soon as people stop watching it, they'll stop making them.

Yeah this series went downhill fast.

Say what you will about the quality of the films, but they're making a lot of money and they will continue to make a lot of money. In fifteen years this will probably be the franchise that ends up getting replayed on Halloween movie marathons. Most of the Nightmare on Elm Streets, Halloweens, Texas Chainsaw Massacres and whatever suck, but movie channels sure replay those. As far as churning them out every year, it's a good strategy and Saw is hardly the first franchise to do it.

Every time I tried to watch the video some dating thing come up. Can someone post it here or something?

I think Saw 3 was the last good one, 4 & 5 seemed just stuck together and felt it difficult to believe what they showed of the back story in 5 "actually" happened, it seemed they just made it up to make 5 have some sort of meaning. Dont like the new jigsaw guy either. That clip looks interesting though, will have to see what the story is to pass judgement though.

1st was the only good one, imo.

Ending genuinely caught me off gaurd.

Disturbed316
07-30-2009, 04:46 PM
Yeah first was great, the ending came out of nowhere. Second was a let down, but semi decent, third was good imo. Forth was abit shit, couldn't really get into it, ending was abit meh and the fifth was :|

The 5th's tagline is "You wont believe how it ends." They just did that so you'd watch the whole thing *insert canned laughter*

Yeah, they keep making money whcih is why they keep making them, but seriously, does anybody really care anymore? The whole series is running on empty, and I believe if they do one more with a real cool finish (Perhaps Dr. Gordon be the "one behind it all") the series can really work. Everyone's reaction to the new movie now is "They're still making these?" and I think it is time they hang it up after VI. enough is enough.

The movies do fit together well though. They're meant to tie with each other incase nobody realized it. Watch Saw II's ending then Saw III....

Saw V was pretty much just a history lesson on Saw II mostly, and the other Saw's. Nothing really important happened besides the end....oh...and Corbett was found...

I stopped watching after the third one.

I'm not gonna lie, I like all five of these films. Of course, the first two were amazing, the third was good, and 3 and 4 were good but 'jeez how many more?'. Really all they're doing now is complicating the story imo. I do like these films, but if Saw VI doesn't have a definite ending I'm gonna be pissed.

It wont have one because they already have #7 in the works at least. The only positive I can get from that is that at least they know going in that there will be sequels and they dont have to make up some convoluted story to come up with a sequel and theyve been doing a good job of tying all the movies together.

Sixx
07-31-2009, 10:38 PM
They can make at least 20 of them at once, to be honest, so I might see 17 or something accidentally.

lol I only seen the first one all the way through, doesn't sound like I've missed much.

I picked the ending to the first movie about 20 minutes in. Pissed me off a bit. I have a habit for doing shit like that. :(

Comes out tommorow.

Anyone care?

Sixx

Maybe the first Saw was something fresh, but I still was like "meh".

Now, I just don't know why they keep realising the sequels, is it still that popular?

I stand by the statement I made in the now-merged (yay thedamndest!) previous thread. I think I only saw up to the third one, but if these were on in a marathon, I would absolutely watch them all.

Being dragged to go see this Saturday night. Saw isn't scary as much as it is just full of unnecessary gore.

Exactly. I always get in a dispute when someone calls that a horror movie. Lots of guts and blood doesn't make a horror movie.

Don't get me wrong, the franchise is genius. It's hard to get franchises like that going in Hollywood, and once they're established, they're goldmines.

I just can't believe people turn out every year to see them.

FearedSanctity

I saw it last night and rated it in the Last Movie You Saw thread. Gave it a 8.5/10.

IMO the Saw VI violence pales in comparison to past ones, other than the opening trap of course. The traps in 6 are there for the story instead of the other way around like before, and the twist though predictible was still good.

If you liked any of the previous Saws I'd recommend it

Rammsteinmad

I'll see it.

As long as it doesn't end with 'You think the games are over, but they've only just begun'. :foc:

Gonna assume he bled to death from amputating his foot.

That's what you would think, but there are these "conspiracy theorists" all over the internet that claim the doctor was saved by Jigsaw and is actually the 4th member of his little entourage. It actually makes some valid points, but I guess I'll find out in a few hours time.

I really liked this one, alot better than 5. Without spoiling anything, I believe that they answered enough questions in this to pretty well end the series, though it does seem likely to continue.

Law saw I watched was 3. The first one was so amazing and its just got down hill since. I didnt mind 2 but 3rd was bad so I stopped.

What I find funny in the whole franchise is with each movie of course they are adding more and more gore saying thats what brings in the fans. The first film was the best and has the least gore in the whole franchise.

Because it had the best story/plot twist. Now they are just too predictable. They tried to make 6 tell a story, but came a bit short.

Uh....the Saw game....what is it like? Whats the object? I remember talking to some dude at Gamestop, an employee, hes like "All the games coming out...Call of Duty....Smackdown vs Raw....Saw" and when I heard Saw I did the "pff" face and hes like "Yeah I know, me too."

I think there's 3 more Saw's to come, maybe 10, because 10 is an even number. Why not?

Haven't seen 6 yet, and I think they should just end it at 6. Seriously. Who really cares anymore after 6? I've heard good things about 6 though...

The game has you playing as a random black cop and you have to rescue 6 people throughout the game, a few of which you may recognize from the movies, but otherwise it's a mass of challenging puzzles mixed with random fights against other captured people. Plus the game has 2 endings and both are quite open-ended.

I thought it was Detective Tapp from the first movie? Not a random guy. They just changed his look and voice.

Yea, you're right. I forgot cuz I played the entire game on mute. I forgot they couldn't get the ok from Danny Glover. That and his involvement in the game throws the entire Saw storyline off seeing as how he died in the first movie.

FearedSanctity
10-29-2009, 03:34 PM
Eh, don't exactly remember him dying, just getting shot and left there. And you know how it is with movies, unless the body gets ripped apart or something like that, there's a good chance they're alive if they don't die on screen.

Hence why everyone thinks Dr. Gordon is still alive.

FearedSanctity
10-30-2009, 01:32 AM
Yeah, pretty obvious he's alive. They've had no problem showing past characters dead in the newer movies, if he were dead they'd have showed him. Plus, the story for the game makes it obvious. If Jigsaw was able to get to Tapp and save him surely he could have saved Gordon, as he'd have had a shorter distance to go to get to him. Don't think he made it too far before Jigsaw had gotten up and left the bathroom

Well, the going "conspiracy" is that if you remember at the start of Saw II, where the guy is in the mask and has to dig the key out of hi eye, and they show his video. The guy in the video for his game is limping on his right foot, which is coincidentally the same foot Dr. Gordon cut off. Plus Jigsaw was an engineer not a surgeon or doctor, so how could he make such precise cuts on these peoples bodies to remove those puzzle pieces? Better yet they analyze how his name is dropped in every single Saw movie to date. Plus there is the line in Saw III where Jigsaw tells the female doctor "I'm a patient of Dr. Gordon's, and he's a patient of mine." It all makes sense, but I'll believe it all when I see it. Plus if you've seen Saw VI, there is a scene that totally has no explantion what so ever and makes you even more suspicious that he is still alive.
