I love Fedor, he is my #1 favourite fighter, but really, this bullshit is all in his hands. I get he doesn't like Dana's style, but here's the thing... the competition is in the UFC, the big stage is the ufc...

I understand that Dana hasn't even dealt with Fedor directly and that is kind of bullshit too. I just don't get how UFC seems so good for everyone else, and yet somehow it's not good enough for Fedor. Why does there have to be so many fucking strings attached for him to fight there? He's going to get paid a lot of money if he fights there... and I'm pretty sure they're willing to work around the Sambo thing....

If this guy is a fighter I don't understand how it's so hard to fight for an organization as legit as the ufc. It just doesn't make sense to me.

If I recall Dana is not AT ALL willing to work around his Sambo competitions.

That being said, Fedor does just need to go ahead and sign.

I know he WASN'T down with it but I feel like I heard he changed his tune. I'm probably wrong. Even still, some on, for fuck sake, just sign. lol

Some people would say he's being smart. That he's building himself up so he's more sought after. I don't say that.

I've said it before, he's slowly turning himself to an urban legend now that the average fan is brand new. Yeah, there's a mystique about him, but now with the fan base at it's largest, if he doesn't sign, he's going to lose that.

Yeah, it really feels like 'now or never' for Fedor to sign with the UFC.

yeah i agree. all the top talent is in ufc now that pride is gone, and he's not doing his reputation any favours by getting fed nothing fighters. talk of him fighting vitor and shit too, ridiculous. i don't get why his whole sambo bollocks is so important to him anyway.

The Sambo thing seems more like "I'm Fedor and you can't control me" in nature. He wants to be able to do what he wants. It's kind of retarded. Then again, Dana has never dealt directly with Fedor, so it is still quite shady.

Word, good call. he can only tease the cock for so long before the fans just forget him and crank one out

Crude?

Of course sambo is important to him

I remember watching something where Vladimir Putin asked him to continue practising the sport for the good of Russia.

Anyway, he has said many times that he fights only for the money. So yeah his manager is a jerk and he has a history of being RIPPED off by managers. He isn't the sharpest person in the world.

But while he is getting pay days with a freer contract he isn't going to necessarily sign with the UFC. There is no point sulking about this. The man doesn't have a whole lot to prove now and even if he did.... that isn't really why he is in the business.

wow

I fail to see the 'wow'. I'm a HUGE Fedor fan, but the sport's audience has gotten so much larger in such a short amount of time he's going to work himself into obscurity to the majority of fans. Let's face it, the majority of people who are fans now, were not fans when Pride was at it's height, or 8 years ago even. We are now the minority. I talk to so many people who are fans of MMA and yet have never even seen him fight. He's becoming an urban legend...

If those people really thought that (and I agree they do), why the hell wouldn't Fedor cash in when he could have been making far more when there were more than one company in town?

I'm assuming it was in fact directed at me.
