Welcome to the geek section. Is anyone here interested in playing a regularly scheduled 3rd (and 3.5 where it applies.) Ed D&D game online? AIM is usable, they have a dice rolling command, and of course, it would be text based. I found this nefty WebRPG thingy, but it doesn't let me register so fuc</>k that.

Anyway, if you're interested, go ahead and post or PM me. It would ideally be fairly regular, not TOO big (for the purposes of actually keeping people together, and people showing up) and I could run it, unless someone else had a hard on for DMing. Most of my campaigns are not crack-power type games, have quite a bit of story to them, but enough action. Don't expect super-uber characters or anything, but something you can be proud of at least.

PS, I know this is the video game forum, but it seemed the best place to put it.

Why not, it's where I put the last RPG thread. ;)

uhhhh i'm a geek like that, but i've tried doing that over AIM before it didnt work to well, theres just nother better then dressing up like a wizard and sitting in a dark room killing fake orcs... *crys* yeah, i mean if that were the case i'd do that

what sort of story/characters are you looking for, anyways?

My interest primarily hinges on that sorta thing.

Quite frankly, I've run so many games, I'm burned out, so I'd JUMP at the opportunity to be a player in a game...Even online (I still prefer being at a table, so I can throw heavy or sharp things at the GM...).

I've never played D&D before, but I'm interested in trying it out, if you guys don't mind telling me how, I guess I could try.

Well, normal type races, (as in the base in the player's guide, or if you must, you can use like Aasimir or something if that floats your boat. ie, Realistic stat bonuses.) Any alignment really, I don't care. Character background is very loose and open, and that type of thing I give people alot of freedom on. Would start at level 1, and basically if I were to run a campaign with strangers, it probably wouldn't be your typical battle of evil vs. good or whatever, or boring dungeon crawls.

I have a plot in mind that would get the party acquinted rather quickly, and whether or not they got along, they would in a way have to work together. I wouldn't want to ruin it or anything, but it involves people being recruited for a "special purpose," and no it's not to save the world or slay some dragon or anything, even though, the direction of the campaign will remain open-ended. Things are planned, however flexible. And Silent, if you wanna give it a run that's all good, KK doesn't seem to mind explaining things and I wouldn't mind helping ya out with the basics and shit either.

Also, my AIM SN is j2ocky, if you want more details or anything drop me a line.

You mean I can't play a Celestial? :(

:shifty:

 Good, I like to avoid clichés anyways. :D

I like story and adventure driven adventures. Dungeon crawls are okay in moderation, but if all you're doing is trudging through room after room, it's just :|

Anyways, I'll see if I can come up with a character concept tonight. I doubt you'll ever see me trying to play anything too out there...

i mean if you guys could have your pick on a text based adventure game, what genre would it be? Dark ages/fantasy, mordern times with like zombies and robots n' shit or a space kinda thing?

Horror type games appeal to me, medieval is my favorite though.

I was into the Star Wars D20 system for awhile, then real life started interfering with our gaming schedule (one of them also got sent to Iraq) and we've since parted ways and stopped playing. I haven't played D&D in so long....I'd give it a try, but it seems as though my work schedule might not allow it. I'm usually available mornings, if anything:(

RPGs, I play a lot of different stuff.

From the "Gothic Punk" of White Wolf's WoD to the "Pulp" of Call of Cthullu, Adventure, or even sometimes D20 Modern, Sci Fi (Star Wars D6 or D20, Stargate, Trinity)...

I dunno. I play a lot of games. I'm not too picky if the story's good.

KK, if you have some info about how to play on a text file, or if you know a website or something, email it to me at inertiatic@mac.com if you want, or just catch me next time I'm on MSN.

I'll have to fill ya in on MSN. I don't have an actual file on it, just a nerdish knowledge of gaming stuff.
