Which was better? After this year's, everyone was trying to say it was the best. But now that some time has passed I think we can compare them fairly. In Superbowl 42 it was the Giants who nobody really thought would win a game in the playoffs and then the best team of all time 18-0 Patriots who got caught cheating in week 1. This year it was the Steelers who nobody gives a shit about except for those from Pittsburgh trying to win their 6th Superbowl and the Cardinals who came outta nowhere with a resurgent QB and the best WR in the league.
I dunno. I feel like Superbowl 43 was all about "firework" plays like that ridiculous interception return TD, but 42 was all about solid defense and stringing drives together. Also you have to take into account that the greatest play of all time happened in Superbowl 42.
It is obvious which one I think is better. But I wanna know what everyone thinks

I think I was much more entertained by 43.
But I also loved the Pats losing.
Still going with 43 though.

I still retain that 42 was the best. The whole game was so engaging. Some people will tell you that it was boring apart from the last 5-10 minutes, but if you're a true football fan, you loved that game. 43 had some great plays, but in the end the favourites came out on top. 42 was a classic due to the amazing defense played by the Giants and it was arguably the biggest upset in the history of sports.

SB 42 since both defenses were roughly equal which made for a more physical and tougher game. The upset by the Giants along with the debate of if the Patriots would join the Dolphins for only undefeated championships made it more hyped than the last Superbowl. Only thing i would argue about was everyone keeps forgetting that while the Giants offense was inconsistent in being good or bad, their defense was one of the best in the league.

42
43 would've been better if either the Cardinals had won or if the Steelers plane would've crashed.

I watched 25 on a VHS I found that I assume my father recorded. Notches 42 for me personally as a Giants fan. The later 90's are really going to be my first memories as a fan, but those 80's teams had a lot of Giants' greats on them.

Being from Pittsburgh my vote is void per the first post so figured just give an observation.
I remember jumping around at the end of SB 42 not believing the Tyree catch and the drive the Giants made.
The Super Bowl for a while was kind of a let down but I think the last few besides (Yes I'll say it even being a Steelers fan) Super Bowl XL which was extremely boring even for us Steelers fans who had a rooting intrest, they have all lived up to the hype at least a little bit and brought back some of the Super Bowl luster.

Yeah 2 weeks is too long to wait for the Superbowl since the 1st week is usually slow while the 2nd week has most of the media days and the extra building up of hype. I think that is why most end up being let downs since they get hyped each year as greatest game you'll ever see or go to even though they will do same hype for the next title game.

Yeah my vote really doesn't count as a Giants fan. Probably going to always be my favorite sports moment of all time.
Just the lead up to it...McQuarters intercepting Romo to seal a trip to Green Bay, Tynes making the overtime field goal, me really believing in the Giants after what I had seen even though everybody said there was no way the Pats would lose.
Then when the Pats scored that TD I was crushed. I tried to stay optimistic but the "Perfect Patriots" headlines were creeping into my head. That whole drive I kept thinking something would go wrong, Tyree's catch nearly gave me a coronary but I knew the Pats had a "bend but not break" defense that year so I still kept thinking Eli would get picked off in the end zone to end it.
When Eli threw that ball to Plax in the air it was literally the longest 3 seconds ever of "holy fuck they're actually going to score" followed by me going crazy. I STILL feared the worst when the Pats got the ball with 3 timeouts left. But after the turnover on downs I just started going so crazy I actually missed the final kneel-down to officially end it.
So yeah...no way 43 could compete with that for me. It would have been much more memorable had the Cards won, just for the sake of who in their right mind could have predicted the Cards would win the Super Bowl. Sorta like the would-be appeal of the Rays in last year's World Series.

42 was a fantastic game, but I obviously can't stand it because of what happened.
43 was a great game too, but I couldn't decide who I wanted to lose more. I ended up changing my mind like 10 times during the game.
36 was an amazing game too, as was 38
