The audio sounds terrible. It sounds like some guy clumsily holding a microphone up to his speakers and rubbing the microphone on the speakers repeatedly.

Indifferent Clox
08-11-2009, 03:01 AM
i can fix that

Indifferent Clox
08-11-2009, 03:09 AM

Triple A
08-11-2009, 03:13 AM
It sounds like you are playing it from a MICROPHONE that is brushing against the inside of your shirt or something. It's not just shitty quality. It's like a microphone rustling against something.

If you are gonna do a radio broadcast thing, I am pretty sure there are other better services just for that where you can just stream stuff directly instead of recording it with your mic.

Just like spotify.

Somebody else's spotify playlist, being played next door.

What was the purpose of this?

Indifferent Clox
08-11-2009, 06:35 AM
I just wanted to play music I like, because I have quite a huge library of music from all different genres and eras. you'd probably like it dude.

Fabien Barthez
08-11-2009, 06:40 AM
We live in the download generation. Everybody who would like it, already has it.

You are going to struggle to find something that I like but don't already own.

And on Fabien FM, I pick the order.

Why do you think talk radio is ever increasing in popularity?

Indifferent Clox
08-11-2009, 06:50 AM
I do talk on there.

That's ridiculous to say that you already ahve everything you are going to like. I know I don't. I download huge lists of stuff i have like 100+ gb of music I probably have stuff you havent heard of. I'm sure you have stufff i havent heard of that i would like.

Indifferent Clox

Oh also I am going to save the archives and I can use them as credit hours for college, since I am going to major in mass communications

Pete Cash

I like the attitude of "welp if I haven't got the song I wouldn't like it anyway"

I haven't heard every song ever. I am always discovering songs and bands I like.

Fabien Barthez
08-11-2009, 07:30 AM
I don't want to listen to every song ever. And I am too always discovering new acts and tunes. But some shoddy radio show effort on Justin is not the format that inspires me with confidence to use as a tool for music discovery.

Especially when he has already posted the playlist, and it is just every other indie kids library. People who do this are never going to broaden your horizions if they are broad to begin with.

Indifferent Clox
08-11-2009, 07:34 AM
what? I posted one playlist from one night.

Pete Cash
08-11-2009, 07:37 AM

You said you like Radiohead and because people accuse you of being a hipster I assume you like hiphop. Do you have that Radiohead/Jay-Z mashup Jaydiohead. Its not earth shattering but its good fun.

Fabien Barthez
08-11-2009, 07:48 AM
I am not trying to sound like a cunt or anything, but you are not just an indie kid the other nights?

Nothing wrong with it, but you are making out like I am going to find some new wave of artists i've never been exposed to, and that just isn't true.

Indifferent Clox
08-11-2009, 07:48 AM
NO but i have the Jay z pavement mashup

I do like hip hop and underground hip hop.

In fact I played an hour of underground hip hop last week

Indifferent Clox

I play electronic, old 50s, 60s 70s, and 80s stuff that's pretty ecclectic. stuff from all genres.

I don't play stuff you'd find on top 40 radio though at all, because what would be the point?

although i did play sweet jane, lily rosemary and the jack of hearts, and behind blue (who version) eyes tonight and those were on the radio probably.

Pete Cash
08-11-2009, 07:52 AM
Yeah I found your playlist. I notice you play two Doom side projects but not his best ;)

Indifferent Clox
08-11-2009, 07:58 AM
dangerdoom?

i played viktor vaughn and madvillian (my personal fav)

Pete Cash
08-11-2009, 08:05 AM
Viktor Vaughn is my favourite

I thought you played King Geedorah and Madvillian. I am listening to Madlib's brother Oh No's albums lately. Dr No's oxperiment. Its a bunch of instrumentals but its pretty awesome.

Mos Def uses one of them as a beat on his latest album.

Indifferent Clox
08-11-2009, 08:08 AM
yeah i heard about taht.

Yeah i played king geedorah and viktor vaughn

Of course you do, there would be no modern indie style without the history of popular music from the last 50 years. Again, I am not slamming you, or even interested in this discussion, but just because you like non-chart music, doesn't stop your tastes being fairly typical of someone your age, location and degree of mental.

I dunno I like a lot of artists from around the world

I play a lot of world music and stuff so I think my tastes are at least a little unique.

At the same time I never said my station wasn't accesable
I try not to play too much of the postrock and neo classical stuff I listen to untill I get a much larger listening audience.

Most people don't have the patience for songs over 10 minutes. I mean I played that Of montreal song tha's 12 minutes but I won't be playing Lindstrom's 30 minute song or william basinski's hour and a half song about september 11th or anything.

I'm not talking about popular music from the 50s 60s 70s and 80s I play bands like Can and Kraftwerk.

Clox, you're mostly diverse for the sake of being diverse. You're trying to be unique, but you sound like every other kid out there trying to sound unique. You painted yourself into a corner and now you're trying to pretend you didn't. Nobody really cares, it seems, if you're "accessible" or not.
