View Full Version : Rebuilding and Rebooking Raw

In my opinion, Raw has been complete shit lately. This is how I would book it, with the talent currently on the show:
WWE Champion: Randy Orton
US Champion: Kofi Kingston
Womens Champion: Mickie James
Unified Tag Champion: Big Show (w/ Jericho)
Main event scene: Big Show, Cena, Orton, HHH, Michaels, MVP
Mid Card: Kofi, DiBiase, Rhodes, Swagger, Carlito, Bourne, Noble
Curtain Jerk: Festus, Duggan, Masters, Santino, Primo, Chavo
Mid Card and Curtain jerk are interchangeable.
WWE Champ defends against mid card or curtain jerk once a month, otherwise sticks to ME feuds.
Faces:
Michaels
HHH
Cena (for now)
MVP
Kofi
Bourne
Santino
Primo
Festus
Duggan
Heels
Orton
Show
DiBiase
Rhodes
Swagger
Carlito
Masters
Chavo
Tweeners
Noble
Injured: Bats.
Main Event:
Orton finishes Fued with HHH and Cena, so we don't go WCW. Begins program with Michaels. MVP starts ragging on Cena, calling him a poser. Fued between these two begins. Show continues his work with Jericho on Smackdown.
Midcard:
Noble gets pushed as a technical wrestler, beats Kingston for US title, Mid card becomes the place for wrestling talent to shine. US title becomes jumping point for ME status. it is the primary goal of every mid-card and curtain jerker. Noble defends title against all comers and has a healthy run (I'm thinking a year). DiBiase and Rhodes are main heels.
Curtain Jerk:
Chavo dominates the scene. He and primo run Lucha style fued, Masters, Festus, & Duggan run a 80s style fued. Festus gets the rub from Duggan. Santino inserts himself into Chavo/Primo fued. As Masters, Festus, and Duggan program winds down, these six have a tournament to determine who gets a shot at the US title.

I think if they just change up the main event picture a little bit it would be ok

Still wouldn't keep me watching, raw has so many dull superstars that atm any good booking will be completely fucked up and overlooked by the dullness of the wrestlers they have. Why do you think they've resorted to a guest host each week? That's why.

Oh and anything that could probably rescue raw has already been done a billion times before.
HHH v cena? Been done.
HHH/HBk feud? Been done.
etc..

really like the idea of a Cena/MVP feud that could work

hmmm, possibly. one of them must be heel though.

I would pick Cena as the heel, not only because he is more established as a character, but, because it would cause people (see: kids, the target audience) to more firmly get behind MVP.

Shawn Michaels should be the WWE Champion. There is no one else on RAW with enough credibility right now that is nearly as interesting as him. He can pull fantastic matches out of his ass, and really deserves a run with the WWE Title. Have the title actually switch hands on RAW, because we haven't seen the WWE Title switch hands on RAW for a long fucking time. I believe it was when Edge won the WWE Title from Rob Van Dam back in 2006. I would then consider giving someone new a run with the belt. After he stops being booked inconsistently, MVP would be a viable pick. The last time someone won their first World Title as the WWE Title as part of the RAW brand was when Rob Van Dam cashed in. This is going back three years now.
John Cena has pretty much run his course on RAW, I believe. Trade him for some SmackDown! guys. Or, because he has been on SmackDown! so long, trade him for The Undertaker.

RAW just needs to take lessons from SmackDown!, and actually let their wrestlers be wrestlers. Imagine the matches guys like Shawn Michaels, Jack Swagger, MVP, Evan Bourne, Kofi Kingston, Chavo Guerrero, Jamie Noble, Carlito and Primo would have if they were given time each week. Instead of running useless segments that ultimately go nowhere.

As much as the idea of having to watch cena on smackdown sickens me, it would open up some new/good feuds. But he would bury the lot of them...

Well, perhaps. Maybe. The SmackDown! booking team seems interested in two things, though: Showcasing the actual talents of its performers, and creating new stars. It seriously looks like CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler may be the top two performers on the brand after Summerslam.
I imagine John Cena on SmackDown! actually wrestling. I imagine him getting taken to the limit by heels like Ziggler, and I imagine him embroiled in a feud with CM Punk over the World Heavyweight Title -- with CM Punk accusing John Cena of using steroids to keep his physique while maintaining the rough WWE schedule.
I do imagine Cena winning the World Heavyweight Title, but I do hope the feud would at least be good, and the matches would make CM Punk look like a legit star.

I think that Orton and HBK could have a solid program, leading to HBK making a run with the title. From there he could give some of the "underneath" talent the rub.

Also, Noid, I like your idea of Cena on Smackdown.

That's exactly what I imagine: an HBK "Passing the Torch Tour." He defends the WWE Title against guys like MVP, Jack Swagger, Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston. I would probably be really interested if they had Kofi put up the US Title against HBK's WWE Title.

Pretty sure hbk/ortons been done before.
Also, if cena was on smackdown i bet the would be involved in the writing, infact i bet he's part of the 'creative' team on raw, could just imagine him writing the shit thats on raw atm...would explain a lot wouldn't it?

I'm not saying it hasn't been done before, but, it's not the Cena Show or the HHH show. It's fresh enough to get us into a new title run with a fair amount of success.
Also, some likely excellent matches.

Shawn Michaels should be the WWE Champion.
This is all I needed to read to rep this post. Shawn Michaels should have been WWE champion a couple years ago. He needs a good long reign.

I think they need to change tings up after summerslam. end the current feuds and start fresh

Ok so after Summerslam I would start a world title program with Randy Orton and Mark Henry to elevate Henry to the main event scene. Then because that isn't a huge draw for a main feud I would have the recently united DX feud with Chris Jericho and Big Show for the Tag Titles. Kofi and Jack Swagger would start a long running program to build them as fixtures on the WWE roster and US Title scene.
Ok so here is the tough part, John Cena.... What to do with Cena... Cena feuds with MVP for the rest of the year culminating with of course Cena wins, but MVP has got what it takes to be at the top and maybe (maybe!) he could be a good fit to win the Rumble next year.

I've contemplated that a lot myself. It seems the only reason when Cena, Mysterio, and Batista get pushes...
But then again Steve Austin, The Rock, & DX used to back in the day as well so...

is this like Breaking Bonaduce?
#1. Cena needs to work with Swagger.
#2. Re-unite Carlito & Chris Masters.
#3. Stop wasting Chavo. He has more talent than half of the roster.
#4. MVP needs to go back to Smackdown! Where he would get some attention.
#5. Have Jericho as Show's mouth piece. Show doesn't need to speak.
#6. Evan needs ppv exposure. The only one I remember was pure gold.
#7. HBK needs to win the Heavyweight title. Now that would be shocking.
#8. HHH needs a little make over. He is getting stale.
#9. There are rumours that Batista is gonna retire. Book him with Cena when he returns.
#10. Cody and Ted need to do something more than just teaming up and beating up people.

But people other than kids actually cared about them. Everyone laughs at batista/cena, dunno about rey. You had the feeling those in the attitude era earned it, where as cena/batista etc have been given an easy ride. I partly blame the roster split for this.

The WWE seems to be going back to the Jack Swagger vs. MVP program. This is not a bad idea. They just seem to be good opponents for each other. They need time to work, and time to really tell a story. I wouldn't mind it if they tapped into MVP's feud with Matt Hardy, and had them compete against each other in a variety of matches (maybe not so much "contests"). I would mark out for Swagger schooling MVP in an amateur wrestling match, for example.
