having save data of the previous game?
Games like Yakuza and Yakuza 2 for PS2 come to mind. You get a bunch of "Haruka" items that were unlockable in the first game as a bonus in the second.
Golden Sun and Golden Sun 2 for GBA to an extent, since you get a code at the end of GS1 that you enter at the start of GS2 and all your shit carries over.
Any other shits you can think of like that?

SHENMUE
You had all your collections and money carry over, brilliant stuff.
EA Sports had it one year where you unlocked more stuff for having more of that years sports games.

thing with shenmue was i worked so hard getting all my moves mastered then in shenmue 2 it basically just halved the fucking lot.
i dont know how new consoles work but when the next ufc game comes out do you reckon you'll be able to bring your old CAF's over? i'd rather not go through career mode 50 times again come 2010 tbh.

Mass Effect is doing that.
More than one of the Koei Warriors game has had bonus starting characters for prior save files.
I think Burnout did between B1 and B2, possibly betweeb B2 and B3.
Pretty sure at least one Mega Man game I had had an option where if you also had a certain GBA Mega Man game in it, you would gain bonuses. Simililarly, I KNOW Advance Wars: Dual Strike did this.
You get a small Gald (money) bonus in Tales of Symphonia 2 for the Wii, if you load up save data of completion of Tales of Symphonia for Gamecube when starting a new game.
Pretty cool how it moves from one gaming console to the next.

Ratchet and Clank, every game gives you cool shit for much cheaper if you have saved data from the previous games.
It'd be really awesome if we got something extra in MW2 like an icon or camo or whatever for being a 10th 55 in MW1.

Yeah, but I didn't think they were going to have unlockables for people who simply had a saved file of ME1 (with story completion, of course), I thought it was just supposed to be storyline continuity is all?

Suikoden. If memory serves me there were like a hundred characters that could be brought over from the first, second, and third. Maybe even the fourth, but I think I skipped that one.
The completely underrated .hack series had the ability to bring characters exp and such over.

Mario Kart gave you Rosalina if you had a save file for Super Mario Galaxy. That's all I can think of

When they came out with Midnight Club 3: Remix, all your stuff carried over from MC3 I think. Don't remember exactly.

I remember in Metal Gear Solid on the PSone, when you meet up with Psycho Mantis he reads your mind.
If you've got any other Konami save games on your memory card he'll make comments about them. I rememeber thinking that was pretty cool at the time.

I remember the Metal Gear Solid one.
If you had a Castlevania save he asked if you liked it or not.
For Dual Strike, if you had the Advance Wars GBA cartridge in the GBA slot, you got some bonus maps and wallpapers.
I can also remember the lego star wars games. I think if you had a save you could transfer the content from one trilogy to the other.

Wrong. Having a Suikoden 1 save for 2 changed the name of the hero from the first game and one of the characters, if you did the thing so he didn't die, from the first game for a side quest. And for having a Suikoden 2 save on the memory card when you first started Suikoden 3 the play thing would use the name of your S2 character.

Mantis did that for every Konami game that had been released before MGS.

Burnout 3 and Burnout Revenge. You got some extra cars. I think they also did a cross promotion with Madden.

If you beat the hulk game, you automatically got the hulk armor suit in the iron man game

Cool. Too bad the Iron Man game is kinda shit. Will probably pick it up if it gets bargain binned tho.

After playing AC for the 360, I'd say the only way to win is not to play.
I think Baldur's Gate II gave you some stuff for saved data from the previous game.

I always wished for Smackdown games to let you transfer legends from one game to the next installment...kinda hard as they kept changing the engine but it was hopeful thinking for me.

I have a hard time believing your assertion that you think Assassin's Creed is such a horrendous game that you would recommend others not play it, KK.
