Sometimes, I have thought that these Interpretted responses have sounded a bit bland and obvious, but watch the press conferance on UFC.com. The answers he gives are just not even relevant to the questions. This mong is either telling the questions to anderson wrong, repeating what anderson says wrong or just getting the whole thing totally fucking wrong.

I'm sure it's just a lost in translation thing. I was dating a girl who sat with me and watched a conference once a while back, she said he's translating literally but it's just a lot is lost between the languages.

So it wouldn't be worth getting someone in who is perfect in both languages, and can re arrange the question asked in english, to make it more viable to what was said in translation, and the answer silva gives will be closer to the question in hand?

He does hardly any press, and this is the one vary rare chance to pick his brain, since so much about him and his future is in question. I say get a proper linguist in, not just his manager, who has the option to change the question or the answer to suit them and create positive or neutral press.

I dunno. the way he uses expression and the sheer length of what he usually has to say leads me to believe there is a little more to what he says than Eddie lets us know. He is supposed to be very smart. I don't think he gives cardboard cut out answers every time like we are lead to believe.

He sometimes softens/changes what anderson is saying in the responses. He was telling the media off at the press conference (after the leites fight) and the translator made him sound apologetic. I guess looking at it from a translators point of view, do you want to stand up there and say "you dont know what the hell your talking about."

I will say whatever comes out of his mouth if i'm getting paid for it. Soares isn't actually getting paid to do this.

But he is his manager, so protective nature and good publicity will always bias his interpretation. I think the countdown show is the only time I haven't questionned the interpretation.

I can understand it. My coach is very fluent in it and Ive learned enough to know what someone is saying about 75-90% of the time. Like I know the literal translations of the words and peicing it together i get the idea of what hes saying.

I cant write it or speak it coherently though. I cant get around the sentence structure and how verbs and adjectives fall in different locations than they do in english.

Oh I dunno. I couldnt hear him. Silva appeared to understand the questions for the most part before ed told him, but yea ed could have changed the question.
