Chavo Guerrero needs to quit his job. I mean how can a guy of his caliber and talent job to a midget? I mean this really horrible.

Dignity seems to be pretty low on the list of priorities for a Pro Wrestler. Somewhere below money, hookers and blow.

Seriously though, the thought that they might be trying to get Chavo to quit has crossed my mind, rather than sack him and incur the wrath of the Eddie fans.

All I am trying to say is that Chavo is in a horrible position and doesn't need to go downhill this way.

Afterlife
08-11-2009, 05:52 PM
What is so damning about it? They had a potential thing going with Goldust and Hornswoggle and busted it up before it really got rolling. Then they had to do something with Swog, and Chavo was doing NOTHING anyway. So, it gives them something to do. I really don't see why it's detrimental.

I was desperately hoping that Chavo's rivalry with Benoit in 2006 (I think) would push him into the main event. It didn't. I realised then that Chavo would be a mid-card jobber for life.

Maybe Chavo is happy in his current role? Is he better than this? Yes. WWE don't like using guys to their potential.

Hornswoggle makes the WWE a lot of money in merchandise sales. Chavo Guerrero actually has an important role in making Hornswoggle look good every week. Not every wrestler would be trusted to work with a midget every week, and Chavo has done about as good a job that can be asked for.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see this angle end with Chavo getting Hornswoggle one-on-one without any handicaps, and completely squash the little fucker -- but for the middle of the angle, this Road Runner/Wile E. Coyote stuff is doing fine.

And Chavo has been doing this comedy stuff since before Hornswoggle. He did it with Santino Marella, and he's been a bit of a joke since he started pushing Vickie around. This has been testing Chavo's ability to entertain, and quite frankly, I think Chavo's continued usage is living up to what the WWE wants him to achieve. He's finding new notes as a comedic character (although he's not really doing much with them).

I'm not saying this will neccessarily lead to a Chavo push, but I can see the WWE getting bored and deciding to actually do something with their last remaining Guerrero. The WWE have Dos Caras, Jr. working in FCW without a mask as "Alberto Banderas." Perhaps they could bring him up as a bodyguard of sorts to Chavo, and give "The Last Warrior" a little run with United States Title, or something?

Not even sure where to begin with that one.

I could point out that a single such instance probably doesn't mean that he's a merch goldmine, but you'd probably misconstrue that as saying Swog has never sold any merchandise.

I could point that you're clearly taking it overboard if that's your sole source of information, but that would just be a Chris Jericho redux.

I could point out that WWE Shopzone is not the sole source for merch and does not make him a big mover on his own. I could even ask you to check it as a comparable revenue source, but that's usually ignored.

I could ask if feeding the Spirit Squad to DX was then a good idea, but I'm sure that's different somehow.

So instead, I'm just gonna take the piss, and hope you get it since I'm explicitly stating that I am doing so.

Hornswoggle has never used any merchandise, ever.

Wow when i came in it was thinking this would be about Owen hart.

lmao.

A lot of top workers, but out of favour with fans are doing the same thing. finlay, goldust, Val Venis was for a while. I am pretty sure Chavo does more within WWE these days than just perform.

They all are well paid, and quite integral to develpment of other talents. Not everybody will get a good run, and keep getting them. If the undercard was just young talent, then it would just be WCW take 2, and the same annoyed fans would speak out just the same.

Mr. Nerfect
08-13-2009, 01:14 PM
Hearing Chavo speak on RAW, I do think he is getting better. I think this horrible bullshit might be getting Chavo quite well-rounded. I still think the time to push Chavo Guerrero was in 2006, though. I still think Benoit was the best choice from both a "Tribute to Eddie" and smart business choice perspective, but Chavo would have been a better fit than Rey Mysterio, in my opinion. They also had him play Vickie's bitch for way too long. There was a point where Chavo could have turned face and had a nice feud with Edge.

To be honest, I'd love to see Chavo Guerrero on SmackDown! right now. The talent over there is being utilised well, and SmackDown! could use a mid-card heel. Trade Chavo for...fuck, I don't know -- Jimmy Wang Yang?

The thing about Yang is that he is still only like 28. The time he's spent in the business, and the style he works, however, have probably aged Yang way past his prime. I'd love to see Yang and Jamie Noble put together in a tag team.

Mr. Nerfect
08-16-2009, 11:53 AM
I think a face turn is probably the best thing for Chavo right now. His credibility as a heel is pretty dire right now. If they move Chavo to SmackDown!, turn him face, put out some Guerrero merchandise and let him battle up the card to work with guys like Mike Knox, Dolph Ziggler, David Hart Smith and Tyson Kidd -- Chavo's career could be refreshed a little bit.
