Love the return of the Hurricane, and it looks like he's gotten a bit of a Dark Knight tweak. Hopefully they stick with that concept and keep the goofiness to a minimum (without cutting it completely, of course).
Video for as long as it lasts on YouTube:

Yeah, the character just looks...gruffer. Here's hoping Hurricane finds some success.

Prefered him without the hurricane gimmick, just a matter of time before the goofy character gets brought back as well and he's back to being captain "comic relief".

Captain Comic Relief got Hurricane the biggest win of his career. :-\

If it gets Gregory Helms on TV it's a good thing.
Although I miss 'Sugar' Shane Helms :(

I believe you may be getting him confused with Gregory Helms...
The Hurricane has yet to officially state his stance on child molesting as far as I know.

Honestly though, I thought back in the original Hurricane face days, he should have been a solid IC title holder.
And in an ideal world, there's no reason why he shouldn't be able to main event with the gimmick. As crazy as it sounds, fuck how gimmicky it is, there have been guys who play the character without going all out "Comic book" with it. Hurricane main eventing would be amazing.
If only we lived in a perfect world...

The crowd just looks ecstatic to the The Bella Twins at 0:27.
It also looks like we may have found the unknown love child that The Hurricane and Kane had while teaming up in 2002.

Shane Helms is a talented guy and hopefully he gets more air time

Gregory Helms may have been more generic but was still more entertaining than this cheesefest. Hurricane was only good for comic relief and WWE has plenty of it in guys like Santino. I was hoping we could see something more of a hybrid of both personas like they were originally planning.

If they do that. All he'll effectively be is the WWE's answer to The Joker, but good. :-\
I'm just stoked that Paul Burchill got some airtime.
He's been on ECW almost every week since being drafted.

I don't read the spoilers for ECW and often forget to watch it, but Helms was quite adamant about it in his Twitter feed yesterday. So damn happy.

They couldn't have changed Hurricane's music to something more darker?

Hurricane needs to be heel. That'll take care of the cheesiness problem.

It was good. I almost wish they would have let Yoshi have a semi-dominant victory over Burchill and done this bit somewhere else though. Yoshi got a great reaction and a few chants.

I thought the theme was too upbeat for the new persona, but maybe it was a refresher and next time it'll be different but keep the talking at the beginning. Then when people know that theme, get rid of the talking.

Wait, where does the character being "darker" come from? Is it cause he's wearing a trench coat?

That, and he has like... a brow on his mask now.
So naturally, that makes him ten times darker.

Wait, where does the character being "darker" come from? Is it cause he's wearing a trench coat?
That, his hair being out, his mask being more of a cover, his aggressive style, and the way he carries himself. It should be noted that "Hurricane Helms" appeared on the stage during his titantron. I hope they just go with "The Hurricane" as a name.

Paul Burchill got two segments in which to speak, has the uber-hot Katie Lea on his side, and got to work a crisp match with Yoshi Tatsu that the crowd was into. I think the man is doing alright for himself. I am really looking forward to his feud with The Hurricane.
