Despite the glitches I thought 2K7 was the best game thus far. The improved GM mode combined with a great roster were a couple big things that put it over the top. Note that HTCP is the only SD I haven't played so I can't say fairly No Mercy is the best wrestling game ever.

HCTP. but since it was left out I would have to say 2007. mainly b/c it was the first one to debut on the 360.

So? Who cares that SvR '07 was on 360, it was on PS3, PS2, DS & PSP and mobile phones and it STILL was a noticeable (granted not as bad as '08) step down from '06, that instead of allowing for fun by keeping the old control scheme, they went and added Ultimate Control Grapples which was pretty :wtf:, and the open ended arena with the hotspots didn't help either, neither did not being able to use any finisher you wanted to on a wood table...you still could on the announce tables obviously, but still...'07 was definitely not the best of all SD!/SvR series of games.
And another thing Jayman, before you speak again without thinking, allow me to back up what I just said with another entry in the SD! series, WWF SmackDown!: Just Bring It...it was the first game to come to the PlayStation 2 (in 2001), and despite the fact that it was the only SD! game thus far to be able to support 8 players at once on screen, the fact is that that and everything else about SD!: JBI were just awfully executed, especially the story mode, commentary and graphics.
Basically my point is, just because some game is part of a series and the first one comes out for a shiny new console that just hit the markets, that doesn't instantly make it gaming gold...no, no, no! You have to put a little thing called effort into it, which is something the people who made JBI and SvR '07 just did not do. At all.

So? Who cares about your point? Are you upset because my favorite SD game is not your favorite SD game? I guess since you're a fuckstick, I should have went more in depth with my reasoning for my choice. I could have mentioned that svr 07 was the last SD game to feature Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit. I could have mentioned that the CAW was improved. The fact that the analog control system was introduced. Interactive hotspots was a nice feature but i didn't go into that. Also, to me at the time, i liked the fact that the create a championship featured the spinning centerpiece and you could manually spin it during the entrance.
So. I could have mentioned all that but I just kept it short and sweet. The only system I had at the time was a 360 because my ps2 broke :( and yes svr 07 was the 1st to be realeased on the next gen systems so i was greatly anticipating this game to come out because i was in need of a wrestling game.
and like i said before HCTP was my favorite but since it was not a listed as a choice I went with SVR 07 for the above reasons.
thank you and go fuck yourself :foc:

Smackdown: "Roody Pooh" was the best

LOL, no:roll:. I could have mentioned that svr 07 was the last SD game to feature Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit.
A.) Kurt left for TNA shortly before '07 released, thus why he wouldn't have been in any game since '07, B.) Benoit went with the whole offing himself and his family thing, so...yeah. I could have mentioned that the CAW was improved.
No, there was nothing new or improved about CAW in '07. The fact that the analog control system was introduced. They didn't do a very good job with it in '07, in fact '09 is the first time where it actually seemed well-executed. Also, to me at the time, i liked the fact that the create a championship featured the spinning centerpiece and you could manually spin it during the entrance. Spinning centerpieces are a joke, excepting the Cena US title belt.
So. I could have mentioned all that but I just kept it short and sweet. The only system I had at the time was a 360 because my ps2 broke :( and yes svr 07 was the 1st to be realeased on the next gen systems so i was greatly anticipating this game to come out because i was in need of a wrestling game. I would suggest, if you haven't already, that you give '09 a shot on the 360, it's pretty solid...definitely better than '07 by a mile.
and like i said before HCTP was my favorite but since it was not a listed as a choice I went with SVR 07 for the above reasons. I saw that...it just surprises me, since '06 was so much better gameplay wise, and behind '06, my number 2 is also HCTP, so at least we agree on that if nothing else. Good day.

I have 2009 for the 360 and I do agree it is a solid title. this is one of those polls where it is hard to decide b/c tbh i have enjoyed every smackdown game that has been released

I have enjoyed them all really, as they've been released.
With that logic, HCTP was good at the time. But I don't see what the draw is these days. I played it 2 months ago and didn't enjoy it as much as the current game.
Would it be cool to have that roster under the current graphics and gameplay? I think so. But I'd take SVR 09 over HCTP any day.

I hope there are no hard feelings, man, I just got caught up in the whirlwinds of debating something on which everyone has their own personal opinion, and probably shouldn't have been turned into a debate in the first place...however, I can't undo the past and I think we both made some pretty solid points as to why we each like different games in the series best.

Still haven't decided which is my favorite.
I remember when I got 2 I was in 7th grade. My friend and I stayed up and played it for about 10 hours straight the day I got it. I loved shut your mouth when it came out because I felt it was the first to have a multi-brand roster. You had ECW, WCW and WWE stars all together for the first time. Here Comes The Pain..I liked the career mode and the roster, but I can't remember liking much else besides that.
Then came 06 and that was my favorite for the longest time. Probably because of the GM mode. After that, 08 impressed me because of the roster and the best General Manager Mode up to date which kept me playing for a very long time. 09 has not impressed me yet.
I guess if i had to pick it would be between Shut Your Mouth, HCTP or 08.

Wow, '08? Seriously. I mean no offense, but that is by far the worst piece of junk that has been put out in the 11 years since THQ started making SD! games...the only one I might consider worse than that is JBI but probably not by much...

haha I knew that was coming.
Well, what kept me playing about 08 was the general manager mode. It was the most complete version up to date.

Hey, people make mistakes, dude...it's not like the poll can be changed, and I think it would be rather pointless to create another poll just to add one option that would most likely get the most votes, so it's not like we don't know who would win, therefore, your point has been rendered moot.

Hmmm... the first 3 I didn't have....I played Know Your Role and didn;t like it too much....
Shut your Mouth had teh best roster....HCTP had an awesome season mode...Smackdown vs Raw sucked big time, 2006 was a great game in general, had GM mode, and the STANIMA feature , 2007 had some new features that I forget, 2008 had ECW, weapons, beat the clock, money in the bank....the only problem with each game is that it was TOO EASY AFTER A WHILE!
I'll go with HCTP with 2006 as a close second. I would still pop in HCTP and do season modes with that....fun fun fun.

If HCTP was on the poll, that would be vote. However, as it isn't, it'll go to 09. I don't know why, it just feels really different. It's got me pumped for 10.

I would probably have to say that out of that list mine would have to be Smackdown VS RAW '09, mainly because they took a game that was kind of lackluster and improved on it and made it a more enjoyable experience, also the roster wasnt that bad. But all in all I would have to say like many of you that my favorite would be Here Comes The Pain, it is simply the best WWE game released in years if not the best wrestling game period.
