A show that's better than RAW.

I haven't seen wrestling for a while and never pay attention when I asked this 5 times before.

Wait and see, it might be better if we don't give you information about it.

You should expect to be blown away by the awesomeness of heel Punk, and the awesomeness that is Jericho

BigDaddyCool
08-17-2009, 08:59 PM
Yeah, Jericho can blow me.

Heel Punk? I've heard good things, but idk...

Main event is the Hart Dynasty & Punk vs. Jeff, Matt, and John Morrison

Oh yeah Morrison is a solid player on SD now

HOLYSHIT JOHM MORRISON IS THE GREATEST WRESTLER SINCE KEVIN NASH! No seriously, I love Johnny Nitro.

I think you'll actually love SmackDown!. The main event is scheduled to be John Morrison, Jeff Hardy & Matt Hardy vs. CM Punk, Tyson Kidd & David Hart Smith w/Natalya Neidhart. CM Punk has been tremendous as a heel. He has been getting so much heat, without really even doing anything heelish until a few weeks ago. He's fixated on ridding the WWE of Jeff Hardy, because Jeff Hardy represents a drug-riddled life that CM Punk does not support. Punk believes himself to be a true role-model, and is facing Jeff in a TLC Match at Summerslam for the World Heavyweight Title. Matt Hardy is again seemingly a face, regretting all he did to Jeff.

Here is a recap of the other SmackDown! storylines:

* Kane is a heel, and is playing his usual psycho-stalker heel self against The Great Khali, who is a fun-loving face. Kane recently kidnapped Ranjin Singh (Khali's translator/valet guy), and while the match is going to be ugly, Kane's been doing some of his best work recently.

* Dolph Ziggler, who is getting really good, is feuding with Rey Mysterio, who is Rey Mysterio (take that however you want). Rey is still the Intercontinental Champion. They'll be facing each other at Summerslam for the IC Title. Ziggler is banging Maria, who is still a face, in storylines -- which is just a way to emphasise that he is the man.

Oh, and even if you don't like the guys involved in the title hunt, the IC Champion is actually being treated like the "default #2 contender" as I heard they used to be during the day. The IC Champion will often headline SmackDown!, or that Superstars show on WGN. The belt is above "mid-card" level now, and is more like the "upper mid-card" title on SmackDown!. Rey Mysterio and Chris Jericho recently had a feud over the title, which they had input in like Jericho did with HBK, and while I wasn't a big fan of it, many have called it "Feud of the Year" so far.

* Chris Jericho & Big Show are the Unified WWE Tag Team Champions. Big Show also wears an ugly blue singlet now. Again, I haven't been enjoying them as much as others, but you don't care about my opinion. Jericho is still classic heel Jericho, and Show has seemingly developed more of an "elitist" persona since joining up with Jericho. They have been feuding with Cryme Tyme, who seem to be getting a bit of love from the company. JTG recently got to upset Jericho with a roll-up.

* Mike Knox has got a fixation on Finlay. Just last week, he attacked Finlay and gave him a sidewalk slam on some steel steps, and then cut a relaxed promo where he sounded like a mad doctor with a sick fascination with anatomy. "It's common knowledge that there are 206 bones in the human body. But what fascinates me is that the slightest pressure to the central vertabrae can cause extreme discomfort." Something like that. Knox seems to be your type of wrestler. He has been really good lately.

* Michelle McCool is the Women's Champion, and is "returning" this week on SmackDown!. She is still a heel, and Layla is sort of her "friend" on-air. Melina is still gunning for the Women's Championship, and is friends with any face Diva.

* R-Truth doesn't have any direction, but is bound to be part of the show. He is still doing his underwhelming rap shtick. At least he is pretty over, right? He's a face, and is likely to wrestle somebody on the show. Perhaps Mike Knox.

He likes Triple H better. Plus he is way to tall to like Mysterio.

<font color=goldenrod>You'll also be seeing ECW taped before SmackDown then. ECW is a good show, they've been cramming a lot of matches on. However the show will likely feature many people you've never heard of as they just brought in a ton of new guys.

Goldust is also on ECW, and has seen some sort of career rejuvenation. He is feuding with Sheamus, a big, powerful Irish dude who is white as glue.</font>

Mr. Nerfect
08-18-2009, 09:45 PM
There is no way I'm reading that.

Then don't ask what is happening on an entire show. It's in bullet points so you can break it down into bite-sized texts to study between now and when you go.

And Big Vito is right, you will be seeing ECW, too. Christian is again the ECW Champion, and the main event there will be Christian & Tommy Dreamer vs. William Regal & Vladimir Kozlov. The Hurricane returned last week, and looks to be feuding with Paul Burchill. There are a bunch of new guys, too. Tyler Reks is a face surfer dude, and Yoshi Tatsu is a Japanese dude that once beat Shelton Benjamin with one kick. Oh, and Shelton is now a face, and Zack Ryder is a Long Island guido type.

I was never asking you noid, you know I don't like you.

Anyhow, I'm so disappointed it in. Shelton completely sucked. The whole show was lack luster.

08-19-2009, 10:11 AM
From the spoilers it didn't sound the best of shows, which is surprising for smackdown.

BigDaddyCool
08-19-2009, 10:15 AM
The wrestling was all piss poor. Nothing but arm drag and hip tosses with 5 minutes of standing around and not wrestling. Seriously, no wonder ratings are down when matches suck this bad.

Londoner
08-19-2009, 10:16 AM
That is really surprising for smackdown, honestly, if you had been watching recently you would know what i mean. You sure you were watching the matches properly?

BigDaddyCool
08-19-2009, 10:23 AM
Yeah, I was there. The matches were boring...maybe I have my expections to high, maybe I only remember the gems from years past. But for the most part it was just slow boring matches that were worked super safe.

A few times I wished we were watching ECW so we could yell "you fucked up" but then I realized we were watching ECW and it has nothing to do with ECW.

That's a good point, Dale.

BigDaddyCool
08-19-2009, 10:53 AM
I don't hate my life Dale...but yes I am a bit depressed. Like to see you come out of a divorce without being depressed.

But seriously, if this is what passes for good wrestling these days, you guys are dilusional. Nothing but over selling restholds.

Londoner
08-19-2009, 10:58 AM
Like i said, you haven't been following recently so you can't judge based on one show. Every wrestling promotion has a bad show during good times.

BigDaddyCool
08-19-2009, 11:01 AM
I can judge the one show I just saw, and it was poor. I don't really want to give it another chance.

Londoner
08-19-2009, 11:04 AM
Well then you're missing out. Maybe they just wanted the wrestlers to be safe and not risk injury before a ppv.

BigDaddyCool
08-19-2009, 11:06 AM
Yeah...last time I saw Smackdown in kansas city before a ppv, matt hardy got busted open and wouldn't quit bleeding.

I was just last year...Hardy got busted open the hardway on Rey Mysterio's knee brace. It was back when Matt and MVP were feuding and tag champs.

except jeff hardy and the case of the missing blood from a couple of weeks ago, maybe that's why they are reuniting the hardy boys,so they can investigate.

I did enjoy Matt Hardy's speech on why he and Jeff are back together. The whole, he is my brother, and I'll stand up for him because he is my brother, even though the assface stole my dream.
