Smackdown starts with a six man tag Mysterio and Cryme Tyme vs. Jericho, Show, and Ziggler. Ziggler pins Mysterio with an assist from Show. Said to be a really good match with a hot crowd.

Sit down interview with Matt Hardy. He apologizes for everything and Jeff accepted.

Kane promo. Typical Kane promo. Khali has compassion he doesn't. Blah blah. Khali runs out and beats on Kane a bit before he bails.

Knox vs. Finlay is next. Finlay wins by DQ when Knox doesn't break at 5. Afterward Knox destroys Finlay with the ringsteps...Jeff Hardy promo up next.

Hardy says he was advised by doctors to retire but he won't. Punk interrupts and says Summerslam will be Hardy's last match. Hardy gives Punk The Twist of Fate.

Maria and Melina vs. Layla and Natalya is next.
Melina pins Natalya with a sunset flip.

Mysterio promo with Matthews followed by JR and Todd Grisham running down the Summerslam card.

Main event: Hardys/John Morrison vs. CM Punk/Hart Dynasty. Hardys come out to their old music and titantron for their entrance. Matt gets the fall on CM Punk. Nice match. Hardys and Morrison celebrate after. No shenanigans.

Glad Jeff forgave Matt for killing his dog and burning down his house and the attempts at murder.

I'll tune in for the old hardys theme.

Dude, Smackdown has been amazing since the draft and better than Raw in every possible way, and this is what's gonna make you tune in??

Maybe it's the report but is that IT for 2 hours worth of Smackdown!?

4 matches in total? Including what must surely be no more than a 5 minute Diva break.

Must be a lot of 'fill'.

I gotta admit, I'm really not feeling this, at least from the looks of it. I'll prolly still watch if I'm home, but I think this might be the end of the hot streak for SmackDown. Not saying they won't pick it up next week though.... Still don't understand how Jeff accepts an apology from someone who kayfabe attempts to kill them and succeeds in killing his dog.

Also, I think it's hard to judge the show on a very poorly written report. Usually they are a lot more detailed, so hopefully another report will surface in the next few days.

Plus, on its worst day, Smackdown will still be 100x better than Raw.

Can you at least not provoke him in here? Do what you want in casual, but I don't want Kane86 ruining every Wrestling thread he posts in.

Explain who the hell I attacked. How old are you man? Seriously? I stated MY opinion.

And yeah I'm expecting better than Raw, as always, I'm just not expecting as great a show as I've been seeing the past few months.

This is pretty much exactly how I saw SmackDown! going this week. I called it being bookended by the six-man tags, although I predicted a face victory for Mysterio & Cryme Tyme team, since I predict that Ziggler will be IC Champion after Summerslam, and Jericho & Show will retain their titles.

Finlay vs. Mike Knox was also logical booking. I predicted it'd end when Finlay lost his temper with Knox, though. Drats. Should still be a good brawl that leads to a more hardcore encounter between the two.

The women's match could be very good, or very bad. Natalya is fantastic, Melina can be good and the other girls have been improving. Here's hoping to them working a smart match with Melina and Natalya doing most of the work. Michelle McCool could have probably cost Melina's team the match, you know, so there are other women in the division who don't look like shit.

The reason it sounds scarce is because a lot of the storytelling will be done during the matches, which aren't 3 minutes like you see on RAW. Plus, you'll also probably have another hype video for R-Truth, Cryme Tyme's Word Up and something with the Divas backstage. That sort of shit.

Here's a bit more detailed report...

Dark Match:
Jimmy Wang Yang pinned Alex Riley who cut an extremely scripted/phony promo before hand and was wearing a High School letter jacket with no sleeves.

Superstars:
1) Shelton Benjamin pinned Tyler Reks with a kick to the head that missed by literally a foot, followed by the paydirt.

2) R-Truth pinned Charlie Hass who was wearing new gear - long black tights with a steer skull on the side and kickpads (?).

Smackdown:
1) Mysterio and Cryme Tyme vs. Jericho, Show, and Ziggler. Dolph gets the pin on Rey following a hot sequence including a knockout punch from the Big Show on Rey.

Sit down interview with Matt Hardy with Josh Matthews. He apologizes for everything and Jeff accepted. A lot shorter then I expected.

Kane comes out to cut a promo, Khali interrupts, swats away the chair and lays the boots to Kane before he escapes up the aisle way.

2) Knox vs. Finlay. Knox had one of those inset promos during his entrance. Couldn't hear it, but Knox was wearing glasses and had his beard braided up for the promo. Finlay wins by DQ when Knox doesn't break a 5. Afterward Knox destroys Finlay with the ring steps.

Hardy promo.
They bring out a bunch of ladders, tables and chairs around ringside and the ramp. Hardy says he was advised by doctors to retire. Though he never listened before and he isn't starting now. Punk interrupts and says Summerslam will be Hardy's last match. Punk goes to pull Hardy off of the ladder, but Jeff lands on his feet and gives Punk the twist of fate. As he was giving him the twist of fate, the ladder accidentally tipped over towards both men and hit Hardy's unprotected head while he was in mid-air.

3) Maria and Melina vs. Layla and Natalya. Melina pins Natalya. I sorta zoned out during this one and I don't think Layla or Maria ever even entered the match. Melina knocked over Michelle McCool who was doing commentary at ringside in the middle of the match.

Mysterio backstage promo.

4) Main event:
Hardys/John Morrison vs. CM Punk/Hart Dynasty.
During Morrison's entrance, the stagehand knocked over both fans that blow Morrison's hair, which was a funny moment and made Morrison laugh. Hardys come out together with their old music for their entrance. Matt pins CM Punk with a twist of fate. Hot finish. In the middle of the match, about 8-10 venders hit the floor with Jeff Hardy Armbands for $20 a pop, and it completely distracted many kids bugging the parents to buy them (which many did, they're making a killing on what essentially is torn-up panty hose). Punk and the Hart Dynasty colored coordinated and all wore black and pink. Matt had new purple tights. The faces celebrated to close the show. Dark match: Hardy pinned CM Punk in a steel cage match with the twist of fate. After the match CM Punk layed still in the middle of the ring for nearly 20 minutes before security started clearing people out and the ring crew was breaking down the ring around him. I think he was ribbing the referee who had to kneel beside him the entire time. After a while the referee pretended to do CPR and Punk no-sold it.

Only a few mins into smackdown and i can already tell BDC was talking shite about the wrestling. First match has been very good.

I've just watched SmackDown and I have to ask....

Since when has Khali and Singh been brothers? :wtf:

At first, I thought that maybe what Kane ment by "Brother" was in the friend sense. But later, Grisham said they were brothers too, whereas he could have said "Friend" instead of "Brother" if Kane actually did mean that Khali and Singh were just friends and not brothers.

But overall, I quite enjoyed SmackDown. It's still better than Raw at the moment anyway.

That was a great smackdown, good main event to. Lots of wrestling, just the amount you would expect on a tv show. Was good to see a hardys reuinion even though matt looks alot bigger now which made it abit weird. Loved the opening six man tag match also.

Have they always announced Ziggler to be from Hollywood, Florida? Or did they change it so he wouldn't get a pop this Sunday at SS? I could have sworn that they used to say he was from Los Angeles.
