I'm looking for a guitar (electric) but i'm having trouble deciding on what to buy. Can you guys help me out here?

How experienced a guitar player are you?
If you're just starting, a squire strat would do the trick. Cheap, decent enough sound, and easy to play.

Can you give me a price range?

Squier strats are like $200.
Mexican strats (MUCH BETTER) are like $500.
