I think of the bands mentioned (let alone albums) only Radiohead and Outkast could coming remotely close to being a 'defining' group of the 2000's. By that I mean none of the others would come remotely close, not that those two groups wouldn't, because they clearly would.
For the record I don't give a shit about personal tastes. If I ask someone to define the music of the 70's to me and they start reeling off a load of underground shithead prog-rock fagfaces I'll slap them around (verbally) too.

the 59 sound was a pretty awesome album. That one song about the guy who died and the chains through the hospital walls is pretty sick.
