Would he receive a push if he was to return to the WWE? I was never a huge fan of his but he pretty damn nice in the ring and seemed bad ass. Anyways it's IYO.

I don't think so...It didn't work out the first time, he is small and Vinny doesn't like that, plus IMO he doesn't do anything that makes himself stand out.

He defeated Matt on Smackdown with a broken freakin' nose!

I think if he came back clean and ready to go, they'd test him out. That's no guarantee of stardom, but I'm sure they'd give it a shot.

keep him on probation for awhile, down the road make him have a match where Morrison was all luck or whatnot.

I still say bring in all these small guys that are free-agents and make an X-division style in the WWE, very different than the X-Divsion, but a match with different rules (kinda like lucha or old NWA rules and some new ones thrown in) It wouldn't need a belt.

If it's that bad of an idea just have it a 16 man tourney and let those wrestlers (like punk) do the moves they usualy can't do... just make it a high impact demanding match...

make it look like the wrestlers have to train specialy for that type of match so people don't always expect them.

it could be eclusive to ECW/Smackdown and/or Superstars. for a few weeks.

Especially if they go with the obvious but possibly perfect storyline of Anti-WWE Joey Mercury.

He makes his return by doing a run-in during an IC title match and just destroys both competitors. He takes the mic, announces he's returned to the company, and then makes his mission statement: He gave his well-being to this company, he nearly lost his face for this company, and when he needs their help, all he got was fired. Well, now he's back and he's got the same respect for them that they had for him. And he's going to tear his way to the top, and then tear the whole thing down.

Start his build from there, and he should do pretty well.

I'm pretty sure that if Mercury did come back, it would be as a heel, just so he can have a feud with Morrison.

That's the idea. He'd be pissed at WWE for the way they treated him after his sacrifices, but even more resentful that his former partner was a #1 contender, if not a champion by that point.

Even have him show up on all shows wrestling matches not sactioned by smackdown/raw or ECW, saying he is a WWE Free agent or something...

I think Norris has to be the automatic vote.

This is a pretty good set-up to re-brand him. Morrison isn't Nitro anymore and Melina has moved on as well. There is no reason for him to come back and say, "I'm Joey Mercury and I'm pissed!" A better thing to say would be something like "Joey Mercury is dead" and then go into what is basically a Loose Cannon-type gimmick. I think re-branding him is key, but it remains to be seen as to whether or not he can make it beyond MNM.

That would work. "The WWE killed 'Joey Mercury'. Now they get to deal with Joe [Instert WWE Brand Last Name]".

I really liked Joey Mercury. During his run in MNM with Johnny Nitro, I felt that he was a much stronger talent than Nitro. He was better in the ring, and better on the mic. What Afterlife suggested for him is pretty darn good. The man is just a great talent that could help out the WWE in instructing new guys. He certainly would have taught Nitro a lot.

Apparently Mercury is retired or whatever. Whatever. The man is oly 30 years old, and has about 13 years totalled in the business.

If he's retired and happy, then great. But if he came back, I'd support it.

Although it would never happen, I'd really enjoy if they brought him back with Christian York.

He was decent enough in the ring, and I got no problems with him, but he seems like the kinda guy who will always be the secondary person in a tag team.
