Ironically, they're fullscreen popups that advetise "stop popup ads" or some such shit.
I've used both Adaware and Spybot, and they're still showing up. At first, I thought it was related to pages I was currently browsing, but When I left my comp on all night (And I'm pretty sure ALL I had running was Soulseek), I got like 12 of them overnight.

do a virus-scan/trojoan scan of your computer to see whats going on. Also checkout the task manager and see if you notice any unfamiliar files/proceses running in the background.
Same thing happened to me as well. I used a program called The Cleaner ( www.moosoft.com) and after i did a scan on my computer everything was alright ( no more pop-ups)!

You know, I thought I just ran a virus scan, but apparently I didn't.
Thanks for the suggestion. If that doesn't work, I';ll scope moosoft.
I did check the task manager though, and the only things I saw running were things I recognised and had never caused problems. That's what really weirded me out, because I'm used to thisstuff actually having, you know,. some sort of SOURCE.

Yeah that used to happen to me a lot. I tried Adaware/Spybot and they didn't get it. Usually when that happens I snoop around my PC to find folders that shouldn't be there. Stuff like in my Program Files folder. Something like C:\Program Files\sahagent and stuff (that's a common one that I sometimes get)
Just look in your program files folder, see if there's anything you don't recognize in there...

Run virus scan from the above site. It's the best virus scan out there.

Is your Messenger Service turned on?
I had all my messengers turned off at the time.

Okay, I'm getting popups from this URL...
http://www.680180.net/ads/?VFJDSz0xMzA2
Even worse, when I go into Fryza's discussion topic, it comes up in the window (Which shuts down my browser if I have popup dummy on).

Have you tried clearing your cookies?
And by messenger service, I mean the one that comes with XP, not the one you talk to people on...
Kane Knight

Well, I'm not on (nor have I ever used) Xp, so I wouldn't know about that. :)

And if it's something as simple as cleaning cookies, I'ma beat myself.

i'd check to see what programs startup when ur computer turns on,also check out the computers registry to see what if anything funny is in there( such as doing a search in the registry for the url that u gave us). Usually the url for the pop-ups that you are getting should appear in the registry.

Nothing unusual in my startup progs.
I'll check my registry.

Well, this is frustrating, since I'm not totally sure what should be here...Hence, not fu</>cking with it.

Have you run the Hijack This program to see if it pulls up anything wacky?

There are always updates for Spybot. I just downloaded an update yesterday and found some more spyware. Spybot and Trendmicro combined should rid your computer of all garbage. If not, consider your computer fubar.

One of my mates just told me he's getting this on his computer. Spybot is telling him fuc</>k all about it, and he isn't stupid enough to go to a website that just pops up on his screen.

Tell him to go to start - run and type in services.msc
Go down to Messenger Service....right click where it says Auto or Manual and go to properties. Disable it, and problem solved.
