View Full Version : Big Show vs Khali - Room for only one giant?
From PWInsider:
The talk of last night's Raw taping was a backstage fight between The Big Show and The Great Khali that took place on Saturday at the Smackdown house show at the Manuel Iguina Coliseum in Arecibo, Puerto Rico.
According to several I've spoken to, there has been some underlying heat between the two for some time, including Show being upset about Khali using moves that he feels should be exclusive to him "as a giant." The two got into an argument after their six man tag bout that night.
As it was described to me, they were arguing for several minutes when Show threw the first punch. Khali blocked it "exactly like he does in the ring" and they began fighting. Show slipped on something and went down. Khali was on top of him but several of the wrestlers broke it up and the crew were ordered to keep them apart for the remainder of the tour.
Show was seen at fault among the wrestlers I spoke to last night.

Show is a better giant than Khali is.
First thing I thought when I read this.

Does Big Show really not recognize that Khali is a giant?

Firstly, Show is infinitely better than Khali as a big man. Secondly, Show was being a whiny bastard here and was in the wrong if all of this is true.

With Big Show around, Khali is completely worthless. Without Big Show around, Khali is mostly worthless. That being said, Show was in the wrong for thing arguement. Khali is a gaint and should be using the moves he uses.

Show stole alot of his moves from Andre. I wonder if Andre is rolling in his grave about it.

I hope you're using the term 'move' a little loosely there. I mean, I like the guy and all but he was dubbed "The Big Slow" after years of extensive research.

yes very loosely
i mean usually the 'big' wrestlers can barely walk let alone wrestle, i thing big show is pretty agile for a '500 lbs' 7ft 2" wrestler.
and you don't get the feeling that he is going to break an ankle when he wrestles

I was hoping I'd never have to see a picture of Swog with the Cruiserweight title ever again. I was really looking forward to forgetting all about that. Thanks, you shithead.

And he's about as mobile as a corpse being ravaged with rigor mortis. I don't really get why khali isnt more mobile than he is, he's not carrying as much weight as big show (420lbs my ass) but he just seems amazingly immobile.

Yes "billed height" meaning what they announce him as. Wrestlings well known for exagerrating heights and weights, Andre was meant to be 7 foot 5 but in reality he topped out at maybe 7 foot give or take an inch. Big show as the giant in wcw was also "7 foot 5 and over 550lbs" but amazingly he looked thinner then than he does now at an alleged weight of 480lbs.
In terms of height Paul Wight went from 7 foot 5 in wcw, to 7 foot 2 in wwf to 7 foot in wwe. When he first entered the wwf he was mean to be 500lbs but again looked much thinner and more built than he does now. Its all to do with perception as well, thinner people do have the appearence of being that bit taller, when he first entered wcw as the giant he was billed at a more beleivable 350lbs and it seemed to make his appearence more stretched out.
I want to take on big show for trying to punch my punjabi bro.
Not a fan. He should have taken the goat.

Because Khali can barely walk, his knees are destroyed.

Not sure why but the thought of Khali's block of the punch made me laugh. Must have been instincts for Khali thinking Big Show would throw a WWE style punch and not a real punch.

That doesn't make him short.
Khali was supposed to take time off early last year for knee surgery and never did it. His legs are skinny as hell because it hurts him to use them because he needs new knees.

For a while Christian was billed as 5'10, but is 6'1. That was when they didn't want to push him.

So far theres 2 different stories to this, the first as above and the second was khali botching a spot (shock) and big show calling him out on it backstage.
Probably never hear the right way of it.
