- Teddy Long arrives in a limo, surrounded by security.

- Batista opened the show with an in-ring promo. Chris Jericho interrupted, claiming that Smackdown has changed since Batista left, and he is now "the Man" on Smackdown. Batista informed Jericho that they had a match together tonight, then hit Jericho with a spinebuster.

- Backstage, Jericho accosted Show for not being out there, then said he would beat Batista on his own.

- John Morrison defeated Mike Knox. Dolph Ziggler was on commentary during the match, and was mocked by Morrison afterwards. Morrison vs Ziggler looks to be on for Hell in a Cell.

Backstage Josh Matthews interviewed referee Scott Armstrong (they used his name). Armstrong said that he knew what he did at Breaking Point was wrong, and he regretted it but he had to do it to save his own job.

- Melina defeated Michelle McCool in a non-title match

- Backstage Vince McMahon congratulates Teddy Long on shaking up Smackdown by bringing in Batista. He also asked Teddy what he was thinking by screwing over the Undertaker. "Do you know what the Undertaker is going to do to you?". Vince tells Teddy to go out to the ring to explain himself to the fans.

- Teddy comes out to the ring (surrounded by security). He said that he had to shake things up on Smackdown and he was too old to try new things so he went with what he knew worked. He said he hoped the Undertaker could find it in his heart to forgive him.

- Backstage, Teddy gets in his limo to leave, but is trapped inside. The driver's window rolls down and Taker says "Where to, Stephanie?" "Buckle up, Teddy". Smoke rises inside the limo as it drives off.

- CM Punk cuts a promo about how he keeps coming out to tell us "I told you so". He preaches the usual stuff about the fans needing drinks, drugs, and cigarettes to get through the day, and how they're lying to themselves, their families, and worst of all, to him. Therefore, he's better than you.

- The Hart Dynasty defeated Cryme Tyme. Kidd used an impressive-looking flip-over neckbreaker for the pin.

Backstage we see Melina walk into the Diva's locker room. The walls are covered with pictures of Dolph Ziggler and Michelle McCool from last week. Melina starts frantically taking the pictures down so that Maria won't see them. Maria walks in and says that Dolph already explained everything to her already. She also said she doesn't want to be friends with Melina anymore.

- The Great Khali defeated Kane by DQ when Kane used a chair. Kane then trapped Khali's leg in the ring steps and smashed it multiple times, denting the steps so badly they had to be removed for the rest of the show. Hopefully they'll use an angle that doesn't show how badly he missed. Khali did a stretcher job.

- Charlie Haas came out for a match with R-Truth. Drew McIntyre came out and said that R-Truth had an accident and would be unable to compete tonight which means that Haas wins by forfeit. McIntyre shook hands with Haas, but then laid Hass out after he turned his back.

- Batista defeated Chris Jericho

- In a post-Smackdown dark match, CM Punk defeated The Undertaker by DQ when Taker kicked a chair back in Punk's face. Taker then chokeslammed Punk and delivered two Tombstones.

Batista opens with a promo on how good it is to be back on SmackDown. Chris Jericho comes out an interrupts him. Batista retaliates by giving him a Spinebuster.

That was apparently what set up Batista vs. Jericho in the main event.

A little more detailed spoiler ::

Batista opened the show with a segment. Lead to Jericho coming out and receiving a spinebuster.

Scott Armstrong said he was told before-hand how the Submission match at Breaking Point was going to end. Vince McMahon told Teddy Long to apologize to the fans. This lead to a brief apology in the ring. Upon leaving ringside, Long was locked in his limo and driven away with Undertaker as the driver.

WWE Intercontinental champ John Morrison defeated Mike Knox.

Melina pinned WWE Women’s champion Michelle McCool in a non-title match.

CM Punk had an in-ring segment. Same stuff he says every week about being straight edge.( Ryan Clark's opinion )

Hart Dynasty defeated Cryme Time.

Kane vs. Great Khali ended by DQ when Kane hit Khali with a chair. He then used the steel ringsteps on Khali’s leg about five times. Khali did a stretcher job during the break.

Drew McIntyre beat up Charlie Haas, who was waiting for his opponent in the ring.

Batista defeated Chris Jericho after a Batista bomb.

The dark match main event was CM Punk vs. Undertaker ending in a no contest when Punk brought a chair into the ring, but Undertaker used it. Afterwards, he hit Punk with a chokeslam and two Tombstones.

Thanks to puropotsy for the following:

I was there tonight and Undertaker did not get involved in Batista v. Jericho. Batista beat him clean with an aweseome finish, catching him in mid-codebreaker and lifting him up into a Batista Bomb. Batista celebrated. Then after Batista left, they announced the main event of CM Punk defending the World Heavyweight Title against the Undertaker, which ended in a couple of minutes by DQ when Undertaker was disqualified for kicking a chair into Punk's face. They brawled afterward, with Taker giving him a chokeslam. The fans chanted Tombstone and Taker gave him one. The fans chanted One More Time and he did so.

Punk's promo during the show was fantastic, he is probably as over as a heel as anyone I have ever seen in person. He is currently my favorite wrestler, I do not drink alcohol or use drugs, and even I was booing him by the end of the promo although I had fun doing so.

I did hate the Vince/Teddy interview, followed by the Teddy in-ring promo, followed by the special effects when Taker turned out the be the limo driver. With Punk being the hottest and freshest act in a long time, it's a real shame that Vince has to butt in and use it as a way to get himself and the Montreal Incident over.

That being said, with them showing the footage, the crowd was absolutely venomous toward Punk and in his promo, he didn't refer to the screw-job, he just bragged about beating Taker and making him tap, saying "I told you so" repeatedly.

lol at Punk being the new Jericho of the mic.

Instead of LIARS AND HYPOCRITS, it's DRUGS, ALCOHOL AND CIGARETTES

Ahahaha. Perfect.

The rest of this Smackdown looks pretty entertaining in my eyes.

Sounds like another good episode of SmackDown!. HAAS WINS! HAAS WINS! HAAS WINS! By forfeit. But HAAS WINS!

Can't wait to watch it, so batista gonna be feuding for the tag titles then?Wow, i might actually get into that.

I didn't really take that as Batista going after the Unified WWE Tag Team Championship, but if Bats did decide to challenge (which I don't think he will), I'd like to see him go for them with Finlay. The two have a history together, and Batista seems to step it into gear when working with him.

I saw it as laying the foundations for the feud. It would be a good move imo, since jerishow has no one to face atm, batista/finlay would be good.

why is Maria being such a C word to Melina?

Mr. Nerfect
09-16-2009, 06:35 AM
Melina's been a bit of a bitch to Maria, too. Trying to tell her that her boyfriend is a bastard, just because he's a heel in the ring. I'm actually intrigued as to where they go with this, as Ziggler does actually seem like he's being set-up. I hope they don't go the predictable route and have Ziggler start banging McCool, or anything. Although, if he started banging McCool and Layla at the same time, he would probably be pretty fucking awesome.

If Batista is gonna challenge for the tag belts, it's obviously gonna be him and Mysterio imo (one of his best buddies, and they had the belts together)

Batista/rey wouldn't be too bad. Then batista could turn heel once they don't win and beat down rey.

I mean, the WWE only needs Batista to be a face upon arriving enough to get more of RAW's audience interested in SmackDown!. After he's served that purpose, Hayes can pretty much take him in fresher directions. SmackDown!'s main event scene is pretty face-heavy with The Undertaker and Rey Mysterio pretty much perpetual faces, John Morrison just getting over, Matt Hardy also freshly turned, etc. And keep in mind that Edge will probably be a face when he returns.

What's the "Where to, Stephanie?" thing mean?

In the report I read, it had a strikeout effect. Basically it's a reference to when Stephanie McMahon was in a vehicle, and The Undertaker turned out to be the driver, and asked "Where to, Stephanie?"

I believe.

That's what the main page is reporting. Khali will be gone indefinitely for knee surgery.

I'm kinda sad they've been putting Kane over so much as a heel, because he would be a great partner for Bats in a tag title feud.

Finally he gets something done with his knees.

I don't know. Kane makes a good heel and I would like to see him fued with Bats.

I don't know -- I think if Knox was winning every match he was in, he'd been too much like Kane right now. Knox's vulnerability is sort of interesting. The dude's job isn't in danger or anything.
