On September 26, 2009 both Bryan Danielson and Nigel McGuinness will wrestler for Ring of Honor for the last time (at least for now). And I'm pretty psyched because I'm going to said show in New York.
That all being said I'm a bit of a geek so when I'm psyched I like to make stupid threads where I get myself even more psyched. So if you hate Ring of Honor, or think indy wrestling is stupid, be for warned this thread is meant to be a celebration of excellence in wrestling outside of the mainsteam, and mainly ROH.
So here I'm going to list my top 10 favorite Ring of Honor matches and I invite all those who will to list their top 10 as well. And if you want to hate of ROH, you can do so as well...
Top 10
10. Nigel McGuinness (c) v. Bryan Danielson v. Claudio Castagnoli v. Tyler Black (Four Way Elimination Match for the ROH World Championship, ROH Death Before Dishonor VI)
9. Generation Next v. Jimmy Jacobs, John Walters, & The Second City Saints (Eight Man Elimination Tag, ROH Midnight Express Reunion)
8. Samoa Joe (c) v. Bryan Danielson (for the ROH World Championship, ROH Midnight Express Reunion)
7. American Dragon v. Christopher Daniels v. Low Ki (Three Way Dance, ROH The Era of Honor Begins)

I'm sure more than a few have watched more than 10... I'm a geek though so I look at it from that geek perspective.
Oh yeah, one match that I loved that didn't make the top 10 is...
--Colt Cabana v. Homicide (Chicago Street Fight, ROH Better than Our Best)
That's probably one of the best brawls I've ever seen.

ROH Better than Our Best is probably my favorite Ring of Honor card I've ever seen.
Homicide/Cabana
Danielson/Lance Storm
Strong & Aries/Blood Generation
Styles/Joe/Daniels/Jimmy Yang
Rave, Shelley & Yoshino/Dragon Kid, Horiguchi & Saito
I never thought I'd see a card better ROH card than Glory by Honor V: Night 2... But Better than out best is it.
I'm actually such a geek I could probably name my top 10 ROH cards let alone matches...

I might do this later - haven't really watched anything since the WM weekend shows 2008 but I've seen most of it from before then.
The first match that immediately springs to mind for some reason is Aries vs Joe at Final Battle 04. Not the greatest match ever but the crowd energy, reactions etc are amazing.

Aries/Joe at Final Battle 2004 has one of my favorite finishes of any match. Just the urgency that Aries showed hitting all his signature moves in succession really sold how difficult it is to defeat Samoa Joe.

They went all out, and nearly killed each other. You know, one of those moments when the crowd stops going bananas at an insane spot and a concerned silence descends.

I haven't watched it in a while but I think I remember which bit you mean. Didn't Mark do a running dive clean over the top and they both crashed into the barrier? It sounds familiar in my head anyway.

I think so - it was an attempted head scissors from the inside to the apron. They landed pretty badly.

Low Ki v. KENTA Final Battle 2005
I've wanted to see that match for years but for the longest time ROH didn't sell Final Battle 2005 on their site.
