Wondering why they introduced John Corben in the first episode, only to jump the gun on him in the second episode. I mean, I knew the second ep was called "Metallo", but after that first episode, I was hoping Corben would have stayed around and relatively non-crazy for awhile.

But, he isn't dead, so he'll probably come back.

It'll be interesting to find out why Zod and his cronies don't have there powers coming out of the orb whereas Zor-L had his powers the second he came out of Kara's crystal.

If I started watching this season, would I be completely out of the loop since I didn't watch 8. Or do I need to watch 8 first, then 9. I really don't want to have to watch 8, since it's been on my hard drive for months and I have no motivation to watch it. I tried like 3 times and always get halfway through the first episode then turn it off.

You may need to watch at least the finale, other then that you probably don't need to worry about the rest.

Lock Jaw

Obviously, as with any show, you'd "get" more stuff if you watched the last season, but I'd say you could jump right in. Though chances are if you can't get through an episode of season 8, you aren't going to like season 9 that much either.

Upto now season 9 has been pretty awesome, there has been a few "iffy" episodes [Like the zombies one for instance] but overall i have really been enjoying it hugely.

This weeks episode/US was pretty cool, i see Clark has taken another step towards being the original-Clark Kent with his dorky looking glasses. However i do remember a few seasons ago seeing him with glasses on so its not all that weird.

I am suprised the Wonder Twins were not asked to join up with the "Justice League"-esque group Oliver Queen has, but really speaking i dont think that group exists now.

I just cant get past the guy who plays Zod though, his accent just doesnt seem to fit, and it has been a few episodes now but im still not keen on him...

Overall though its getting good.

I wasn't really a fan of Zod until that episode with all the flashbacks to Krypton. Here's hoping we see more of that.

Also can't wait for the two part "JSA" episode.

This weeks episode was great, and i checked the TV listings and noticed that its the last episode before they're on a two month or so break.

Totally lame how the storylines develope, only for them to then give you such a long delay meaning its not so fresh in your mind anymore...

One ting about the latest episode, why does Clarke ALWAYS have to find the good in people? He seen what Zod does in the future, yet he basically goes to Zod's base of operations in present time pretty much wanting to talk things over with a hot cuppa and crumpets.

Chloe is another point of interest... In the future she hates Clarke, doesnt trust him etc, it just feels that even in the present she is going down the same path. Have to wonder if she will end up being some sort of villain at the end of it all, maybe not this season but the next.

Finally, one last thing which has been sort of on my mind over the past few seasons. When Clark finally does make the jump to Superman, it will obviously be the end of the Smallville series, what would people think about having the same cast/crew to work on a Superman series?

Inevitably it would end up being like the Lois and Clarke series about 10-15 years ago, but i think the way that they have made the current Clarke Kent in this history it would be something totally different because events have obviously happened so far which makes it differ from the Lois and Clarke series.

Jura

Chloe has to be kind of a tough ass and anti-hero to protect Clark because Clark can't do the bad things. I think the death of Jimmy has pushed her to this point.

I never thought she was really hot or anything but this season she's a lot more attractive than before.

I feel kinda torn about it. The costumes look perfectly true to it's source..but then again..they look kinda cheesy..something out of a comic con.

Lock Jaw

I love all three of the costumes.

However Fate's Helmet looks very plastic and "bought at Wal-Mart"ish.

Stargirl's mask is also ugly. Don't know why they felt the need to make it all ugly plastic like that.

Just noticing that the cosmic staff looks kind of "Wal-Mart"ish as well.... and why is the top like that?

I know what you mean. I have seen costumes on the costume section of Wizard magazine that look more professional to be honest. I don't really know what they have up their sleeve but maybe things will become more clear as the episodes rolls around. There is a video floating around the net, a trailer of sorts, that shows more of the JSA characters in action.

Who was seen getting arrested, and then later behind bars with the ring on his finger. He's still alive though, so hopefully we can see him sometime.

Another little easter egg: Lois mentions coming from an interview with Michael Holt, who in the comics is the current Mr. Terrific, member of the JSA (Technically also a member of Checkmate. Though Checkmate isn't evil in the comics.)

D Mac
02-09-2010, 01:15 AM
The Green Lanterns are often depicted as being close friends of the various men who have been the Flash, the most notable friendships having been between Alan Scott and Jay Garrick (the Golden Age Green Lantern and Flash), Hal Jordan and Barry Allen (the Silver Age Green Lantern and Flash), and Kyle Rayner and Wally West (the modern age Green Lantern and Flash), as well as Jordan being friends with West.

Not a bad episode, the bit with the can being chucked was somewhat funny, but i am suprised Clark went out in broad daylight where his face could effectively be seen..

Other than that, there wasn't really much "action" in terms of fighting, though the ending seems to hint at Chloe and Oliver getting together...

Was disapointed though! Clark and Lois were going to some costume party, and i really thought they would have enough time at the end to show Clark in a costume - Considering the little kid showed him the RBB outfit.

McLegend
05-15-2010, 01:50 PM
Yeah there is no way anyone expected to Smallville to last for 10 seasons.

Lock Jaw
05-15-2010, 02:13 PM
Yeah, I have devotedly watched it from the beginning, but even I wonder how it made it this long. First few seasons were pretty terrible, save for Lionel Luthor being evil.

Then when Lex became evil, it became kinda decent.

Then Lex left. The highlight of the show then became Lois Lane's heightened role, and how many guest stars they can pack in (JSA, Legion, etc).

Lock Jaw
05-15-2010, 04:00 PM
Just watched the finale. I think its pretty much a lock that next season they are going to do a "Final Crisis" like story. What with all the talk by Checkmate about "The coming Apocalypse" and whatnot.

I think the dudes who were with Green Arrow are probably the last of the New Gods of New Genesis. Warning that the New Gods of Apokolips are going to start appearing in the bodies of humans.

The lady who was knitting in the hospital was probably Granny Goodness, and she's going to put some-other Apokolips person in Tess. Hopefully not Darkseid.

Let's say for some reason he doesn't pull it out in time or a piece is still inside of him when he lands. Since it takes away his power the fall should kill him right? But I don't think Clark can really stay dead. Even if all that happens you can take the blue kryptonite out and let him bask in the sun light and recharge and heal.

Para-demons are footsoldiers of Darkseid, the New Gods are main characters from the same story. Essentially we belive Smallville is rolling out the big guns next season with the New Gods side of DC.

Technically New Gods are the bad guys too.

The New Gods are characters created by Jack Kirby. Basically there are two planets of them. One is full of the good people of New Genesis, lead by Highfather, and the other is the evil world of Apokolips, led by Darkseid.
