Yeah, listened to some of the new AIC and it's a lot better then the new Pearl Jam shits. AIC sounds like the AIC of old, feels like Layne Staley is still alive and in there. The new PJ just doesn't sound like PJ.
Every PJ album is completely different. If you say the new stuff doesn't sound like PJ then basically nothing that came after Ten does either.

I'll take PJ any day over the guys that are trying to bring something back that can never come back.

Pearl Jam is number one again on the charts. Also, they're a huge touring band...so, ya know...

Y'know DM, you usually have a pretty good taste in music, but Alice in Chains are way overrated IMO.

Pearl Jam have definitely seen better days as well.
And here I was, hoping grunge died with Cobain.

Pearl Jam thrives as a live band. They are one of the best out there...they put on an amazing show. Their albums in recent years have not captured that as well as some of their earlier albums, but Backspacer is a return to form for them as an album.
And how would you ever expect them to put out an album like Ten or Vs? I feel bad for people who expect bands to do the same thing every album. They've been around for nearly 20 years, they are obviously going to do things a bit differently.
But I expect to be in the minority here. My love of Pearl Jam started with the ridiculous amounts of live boots in 2000, and I still think that's where they are at their best.
