Heard this was supposed to be out next year. They're saying it is not known whether John Cho and Kal Penn will be back. Yeah this will fail if they are not in it. They are Harold and Kumar, nobody else.

Kal Penn currently works in the White House.

Um, that is why it is not know whether he will be in it.

It makes no sense to do a Harold and Kumar movie without Harold and Kumar.

No way this happens with Kal Penn, he's done with acting for a while.

Here are some creative fixes to make this happen based on things that have occurred in past movies:

1) Prequel/sequel using other actors
2) Animated version
3) Kumar is dropped entirely and it becomes Harold and NPH's Christmas
4) Harold remains but Kumar's relative who is similar to Kumar joins the cast

Our friends at Lifeline Live (http://content.usatoday.com/communities/entertainment/index) and other entertainment news outlets are reporting that actor Kal Penn is leaving his White House job to film another sequel to the Harold & Kumar movies. So did you ever wonder what Kalpeni Modi (the actor's real name) did as an associate director of public engagement for President Obama?
Of course, he promoted Obama's public policies. In a White House blog (http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2010/03/30/higher-education) post earlier this week, Modi touted Obama signing into law sweeping changes in the student loan program aimed at helping more young people go to college.
The President believes that for America to compete in the 21st century, we'll need a highly educated workforce that is second to none. But one of the things holding us back from this achievement is soaring tuition costs at colleges and universities around the country.
Modi also was Obama's liaison to Asian-American community groups, updating them on policy initiatives and engaging them on ways they could help the president.
You'll recall that Modi asked for his character to be killed off in TV's House, so he could join the Obama White House. During the presidential campaign, the actor was a frequent surrogate on the trail.
The new Harold & Kumar movie will be Christmas-themed, with filming set to begin this summer. No word yet on the last White House day for Modi -- or shall we say Kal Penn. But we wish him well.

Heh. Kal Penn leaves House to work for Obama, only to go back to acting.

Guess the poor guy couldn't stay away from Hollywood.

Damnit, I like Harold and Kumor but I don't really like Christmas themes, 8 out of 10 times christmas themed episodes end up being my least favorite and I'm not really a fan of Christmas movies, hopefully it's good.

Why cant he play 2 parts in the movie? When they see him they are like, "Holy shit NPH you are alive!" Then he would say "Who the fuck is NPH?"

Awesome, love the first two films. They're such happy-feel films, perfect for when you've got mates round and/or you've had a smoke.

lol @ amount of people not realising NPH is still alive.

If Nation Lampoon's Vacation series is any indicator, Harold and Kumar are headed to Vegas next.

trailer has finally been released. I will definitely see and buy the film even if it was John Cho farting on a snare drum for 90 minutes because I am quite the dirty slobbering mark for these films/don't tend to really ever get bored of the first two.

Seems like it is going to be packed with 3D gags that won't do anything when you watch it in 2D eventually.

I saw it last night, there is some funny as shit bits in there especially when NPH gets involved and also when they fire the shotgun. (Slight spoiler I suppose, but its more so what happens immediately after they fire it)

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but the Harold & Kumar movies do nothing for me. Not even the bits of the White Castle one with NPH.
