Kenny fucking King.

Tyler Black. I don't think I need a reason.

Side note: I touched his back once after a match and it was really gross. Awful idea.

Actually, that's a pretty good reason.

I love Kenny King. Hopefully he becomes FIP World Heavyweight Champion soon, and also starts working with Dragon Gate USA.

Tyler Black seems like an obvious winner, so I hope they don't go with him. He doesn't really need it. Out of the men already confirmed, I would probably choose Kevin Steen to win it, as a bit of a surprise.

How I'd do it is such...

Chris Hero v. Claudio Castagnoli v. Tyler Black v. Kevin Steen v. Roderick Strong v. El Generico

With Steen and Generico being the last two in the ring and Steen beating him and after the match Generico goes for the handshake and Steen completely snubs him thus breaking up Steenerico.

However...

I have this weird feeling that Aries will be the final entrant and win Survival of the Fittest. I think he'll do it in an underhanded way like how Hero did it in 2007.

Also Aries has been in the finals of all of the Survival of the Fittest tournaments but never one it. I think this will be when the give it to him, just to make him seem like even more of an asshole.

My vision of the match was very similar to yours, Show Off. The biggest difference I see is Kenny Omega making it in over Chris Hero. Omega is someone that ROH seems to want to push. I can see him beating "Mr. Survival of the Fittest" himself, and then Hero costs Omega the final later. Then we can get a proper feud between Kenny Omega and Chris Hero, which would be fantastic.

Although my personal preference would be for champions to be discluded, and El Generico goes into the match - beating Delirious to make the final - Aries is a very good choice for not only entering, but winning the entire thing.

Well I was wrong, because signed for the show is

Davey Richards & Austin Aries v. The Briscoes

Also, The Extreme Horseman, The King of Old School, and the fucking GOD of professional wrestling is coming back to ROH. :)

Yeah I read that too. I've never been impressed with Corino but I've only really seen him wrestle in 2004 which apparently when he was at his fattest and most out of shape. So I'm willing to give him a second shot.

I'm more into his personality, but he can wrestle decently, and draws good heat.

Hopefully they have tension between Davey Richards and Austin Aries, setting up a potential match between the two, and have Jay Briscoe pin Aries. It gives more people a reason to be going after Aries' head.

Tyler Black wins Survival of the Fittest 2009.

What Would Kevin Do?
10-10-2009, 11:01 PM
Lame.

Instead of using this to build someone new, they used it to slingshot Black back into the main event. The thing is, the fans haven't forgotten his other recent shots, so it's nothing really new. Tyler needs to be reinvented a bit, and this wasn't the way to do it.

Don't get me wrong, I love Tyler, but he's either going to A. not win the title, and people will bitch, or B. Win the title, and people are going to bitch that it's anti-climatic.

Omega should have won this.

Omega or Kenny King.

I would have had Kevin Steen win, but oh well.

Tyler Black is good and all, but nothing about him seems special.

He's good in the ring has some nice moves, he can work a match. His match with Jimmy Jacobs at Violent Tendencies is a great match, but it made something very obvious to me. Tyler Black doesn't have any character, where as Jimmy Jacobs has tons.

So basically what I'm trying to say is...

Bring back Jimmy Jacobs?

I'm praying Jacobs comes back to ROH. The problem is, even if he does, I don't think Pearce sees him as a main event player.

Tyler Black winning makes sense, don't get me wrong. The man is young, has got so much talent, and all that. It's just that he didn't need the win, nor does it really help him. He was pretty much on-track to being a main eventer with ROH. I would have preferred someone with less direction to get the shot.

Personally, even though he doesn't have the most support around here, I would have gone with Roderick Strong. He's a really good worker, he just doesn't have direction. Something like this would certainly give him that.

The most intriguing thing coming out of SOTF is that Chris Hero hit Claudio Castagnoli with his KO Elbow accidentally, which might spark a feud between the former Kings of Wrestling. I'd be interested in seeing that.

I love Roddy. It could also give him ammunition for a A Double feud.

A Double is the only 2 Time ROH Champion, and Roderick would have been the only 2 Time Survival of the Fittest Winner. His first one came at the hands of the Greatest Man Ever Himself.

This is exactly what I'm thinking. Roderick Strong and Austin Aries have the history to really get a feud going, and Aries has got the out-going personality for both of them. Strong can go over Rhett Titus and Kenny King in "star-making" showings, and then Strong can perhaps even get a run with the ROH World Title.
