Same as RVD: Do we want him back; why or why not?

He has them killer looks. Maybe with his French Canadian faction.

I liked Rene Dupree enough. He was never an outstanding talent, but if Chris Masters can get another chance, then why not? He was like the youngest champion in WWE history, wasn't he? He's only 26 later this year, and he'll have something like 12 years experience in the business. He had a bit of an attitude backstage, apparently, but maybe he's wisened up -- and technically he does have more experience than a lot of the guys currently working. I mean, if he had remained with the WWE until today, he would have been signed to them for 7 years, and been on-air for about 6. You couldn't classify him as a "rookie."

He's not someone I'd give a definite "holy fuck, yes!" to, but if his ring skills have improved, and he's gotten a bit more mature, then I'd strongly consider bringing him in. Dupree as the United States Champion could be really entertaining. I'd definitely choose Dupree over Sylvain Grenier, at this point.

Rene could have been big me thinks, but I was never high on RVD, he can stay away.

I saw Dupree wrestle in 1PW a while back. He's a competent wrestler and has enough skill in the entertainment/charisma department, but I don't know where he'd fit in the current roster.

I'd probably put Dupree on RAW. There are a lot of really solid talents in RAW's mid-card, but for some reason it just seems exhausted. Probably because everyone is booked horribly there. Dupree could be a great mid-card act on RAW -- doing the French Tickler and wrestling Kofi Kingston.

Sure why not. let's bring Grenier back while were at it. I loved La Resistance.

I actually preferred Grenier, but I thought he was retired from wrestling. I enjoyed them both immensely, as well as Rob Conway's music.

I definitely agree. Rob Conway was a tremendous worker -- probably one of the best to ever come out of OVW for the WWE. But yeah, he got mired down pretty early.

I say yes. I liked him. Solid worker with a good look and good charisma as well.

I could see him in the RAW midcard.

What's more, I feel like his return to the Raw MIdcard would be both interesting and almost "impactful". Especially in comparison to the lackluster return of Masters.

And because Dupree is better than Masters (I think so).

Not that Masters can't be good in the RAW midcard, it's just that he isn't really being used (unless this Chavo thing counts). Dupree would certainly get a better reaction on his return. If not, he could at least put himself over on the mic better than Masters and become a legit threat to the US title in no time.

Gotta disagree with you afterlife, never really got into rene dupree, just seeing his name in the title of the thread annoys me for some reason.

...as compared to Masters', was the main point. Besides, Goldberg bores me. Doesn't mean I can say his WWE debut didn't have an effect on the show.

I'm for it. He was a good talent. The whole 'French' thing is instant heat that works every time.

I liked La Resistance as well, maybe they should bring them all back.

That dance he used to do was immense.

It was so fucking over, too. In this day and age, it is hard to find things so simple that get so over.

As for the rest of La Resistance -- I actually didn't mind them as a unit. They were a bit underwhelming at the time, but a lot of that was how they were booked. They were a top team; but it was by default. I HATED their feud with The Dudley Boyz. "We hate them because they are French." Fucking retarded.

Sylvain Grenier as the uptight former model, Rene Dupree as the second generation French star, and Rob Conway as a man representing "true freedom" could work. I'd rather the WWE give Nick Dinsmore a third crack, however, and let Conway & Dinsmore work as "The Lords of the Ring" while Dupree & Grenier are their own heel team.

Put The Colons back together, and you've got some real teams again.

Apparently he does. Ironically he recently wrestled RVD somewhere.

Didn't he wrestle (and lose to) RVD for a title somewhere, or was that against someone else? I just remember reading that RVD won a championship and getting excited about it.

Yeah, that's exactly it. Well, RVD didn't defeat Dupree for the title (from memory), but he did defend it against him.

Mr. Nerfect

I'd love to see a mock patriotic American team. It's unlikely we'd see it anywhere but SmackDown!, but Mike Kruel sort of had a gimmick like that in the developmental system, I believe. A loud, obnoxious, arrogant cunt who "loved America." Sort of a Team America: World Police type thing.

But they at least got reactions from the crowd as a team. As singles competitors, you can hear what each is saying when he makes his way to the ring.

Getting booed for sucking would be an upgrade for them both.
