According to sources, current TNA World Tag Team Champion Booker T is not expected to stay with TNA once his contract expires with the company. Booker, whose deal with TNA is rumored to expire in November (he signed with TNA in November 2007), reportedly refused to put over Matt Morgan at last night’s TNA Impact TV tapings in Orlando and the general feeling among those in the company is that this could have been the “last straw” in his rocky relationship with TNA management as of late.

Were told Booker made it clear to various wrestlers during last week’s overseas tour and again in the locker room at the TV tapings this week in Orlando that he has options in WWE and intends to return once he is contractually able to do so. While nothing is official of course, TNA sources are indicating that his days with the company could be numbered. The buzz right now is that he will appear at Bound For Glory and drop the TNA tag titles with Scott Steiner at that show or at the tapings that will follow and not be booked again by the company. What this means for the Main Event Mafia group from a TV perspective is anyone’s guess at this point.

This isn’t the first time something negative backstage has taken place with Booker as he has been described as having a negative attitude in the locker room for months now. In regards to the situation with Matt Morgan, he reportedly made it clear he wasn’t happy about this decision when he found out on the overseas tour. While there is said to be no heat between Booker or Morgan, Booker reportedly felt it was a mistake for him to lose the match on TV instead of PPV. Booker was said to have cooled down about it during the tour and had a lengthy conversation with TNA President Dixie Carter on Monday only to turn around the next day and refuse to put Morgan over around 45 minutes before the actual taping. He also created quite the situation during the overseas tour in refusing to wrestle in a main event in Switzerland when fans threw chairs and other objects into the ring. Booker and his wife Sharmell walked out on the match. Sheik Abdul Bashir later came out to replace Booker to conclude the show.

Shame on Booker.

Fancy not wanting to get into the ring while the fans were throwing chairs.

Shame Booker Shame.

As for the rest of it - Pfffftt. Same story, different name whenever it gets close to their contract ending.

It's a star, so WWE will eat him up with a spoon right now, but honestly, I couldn't give 2 shits about Booker, I think he used to be entertaining, but wasn't ever that good in the ring IMO

5 WCW World Championships + 1 WWE World Heavyweight Championship say you are incorrect.

I like Booker. He can still be a good worker, and he finally worked out how to play a heel in 2006. The crowd will pop for him when he returns, and I would truthfully like to see him win the actual WWE Championship at least once in his career.

So did Hogan, and I put him in the same bracket

As do I Cena

They entertain me, but I don't enjoy seeing their matches compared to pretty much anything else on the card.

You don't have to be a great wrestler to be world champion nowadays, and the whole 5 time WCW championship thing is a joke, didn't the belt change hands 20 times within a 12 month period towards the end, holding the belt towards the end of WCW doesn't give you credability IMO.

I thought the stuff he used to do with Goldust was very entertaining, as a main event guy in WWE, the only times I found him interesting was when he was feuding with HHH for Mania 19, mainly because I wanted the belt off HHH, not because I liked Booker, and his King Booker stuff, at the start, then that shit got dull, and he never produced main event calibre matches on WWE tv, so that, is why I have that opinion of Booker

I think this just goes to show what the wrestling business at the top is all about. At one time it was Booker T's opponents that refused to put him over. However, I do see is original point about putting Morgan over on PPV and not TV.

He'll go back, bitch and moan to Vince when he doesn't get his way like last time, and leave again.

Then again, maybe he should just hang 'em up.

That's what I'm saying, you'd think he'd know from his time in WCW how much that shits on the whole promotion.

I know others pretty much covered this, but I'm just amazed at the fact that anyone still thinks championships=good in the ring.

That being said, I'm even more amazed that someone would think that Booker was never good in the ring.

Booker T and Goldust was great, because of Goldust.

Booker T without Goldust was bland and annoying, because of Booker T.

A Rumble spot could be interesting; outside of that, he's about as entertaining as Batista.

good

only steiner and nash to go and they have a great roster again, sting is retiring and i wouldn't mind kurt angle staying.

i didn't like these 'superstars' being there in the first place, it was the other guys that made tna a contender and the older guys were just riding the gravy train whilst the guys that practically built the company were pushed back, its not as if the older guys have done anything special whilst at tna, i dont know how it seemed to anyone else but to me it seemed as if they didn't really want to be there.

Pretty much. That's why I suggest a Royal Rumble one-off.

He needs Goldust instead of Sharmell.

True. But with the new popularity Goldust is building, I think something like Booker T would just hinder him.

Vince will make him job to Triple H within the first three months just to punish him.

VINCE: "You remember why you left now?!"

BOOKER: "Yes!"

VINCE: "Are you gonna leave again?!"

BOOKER: "No!"

VINCE: "Good Superstar..."

According to Wikipedia, he was Kole, so your hopes for a feud with Kane over the name are ruined.
