when the game is on the line, who would you run a play for?
I'd give the ball to Nick Van Exel. Sure he kinda faded into obscurity being in Golden State and all, but he is a proven clutch shooter and he ain't scared to shoot it. I'd also consider Reggie Miller or Paul Pierce as all three are fourth quarter performers.

This year, Sam Cassell. When the 4th quarter comes, he starts hitting shots from 3-point land, half court, the locker room, whatever. He just has the swagger when the game's on the line, and it has faded a bit recently, but if he can get it back (36 points!) then the Wolves are doing all right come playoffs.
Horry's 3 against the Kings in was it game 6 or 7 of some series a year or two ago... that was sick. Miller used to be hella clutch, but the player I want to look at from a couple years ago is Baron Davis. It was like, vs the Celtics I think, end of the game, he hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to send it to overtime -- but they called it back, said he released it too late. On replay, he made it... but the refs screwed the Hornets. Pissed me off, because man, how clutch is Baron Davis?
One of my favorites now, so let's say him to deviate from the pack. :y:

Ahhh Reggie Miller was/is pretty clutch in his day as well
When you can signle handedly score 6 points in 3-5 seconds to tie the game (if my mind serves me right) you are clutch in my mind

For sure. Rip's pretty clutch too, but Chauncey is starting to make a career out of ending games.

Reggie Miller is hands-down the all-time clutch performer, indubitably. You can't argue that

For someone who knows nothing about basketball, Magic was a good choice. I'm assuming you don't remember or even saw the baby sky hook he used to beat Boston in the '87 Finals. And no, Magic retired in 1991 when he was diagnosed with HIV. Even non-basketball fans should know that.

Alltime - Bird or MJ, MJ has the height, ablity to move and hit the shot from anywhere, Bird had the height and ability to hit a shot anywhere.
Today - Not sure I watch enough to answer this... As much as I'm not a big Fan Jason Kidd seems to be pretty calm under pressure, same w/ AI, and I'd give a nod to Kobe, not just the good shot, but calm under pressure and the height.
One thing I look for is a guy that wont get blocked, which is why I'd look tword a guy at least 6'7.
