I really want to like the guy, but he's just like generic wrestler #1784826 to me. What's the thoughts from you guys? Feel free to help me become a fan if you believe I should be.

I'm in the same boat, I want to like him because he's a fairly good and talented wrestlers it's just hard when he comes across as been plain. It's a good start though and I think as the months and years go by he'll develop a character we can care about and rise the ranks.

same here... he's talented, but just seems plain to me as well.... he was awesome when he first debuted, seeing him do his jumping attack thing in the corner was pretty cool.... now all the crazy things he does are getting old....

i wouldnt say im a "mark" but im a really big fan of kofi kingston, sure he may be just a generic wrestler, but he is still there performing each and every night. the guy is amazing with the crowd! i wouldnt be surprised wwe made him a main eventer!

ok that last thing is wishful thinking on my part!

I like the guy a lot in ring, but you're all right about the lack of out-of-ring charisma.

In fact, I think the best thing he's done promo-wise that I've seen was a few weeks back when he ambushed Miz to get his title back and then just looked at Josh Matthews and gave him a "What up, Josh" in a serious tone. It'd be interesting to me if they ran with this changing him from Mr. Fun Loving guy to someone who continues to take more aggressive approaches to his opponents, in a Rock kind of way. Rock's the perfect example of in-ring image being so good that he can act like a ass and get over still, and though Kofi's not anywhere near Rock's league on the mic, I think he's someone the crowd could get behind more if he develops a mean streak.

He's a pretty solid mid-card guy. Don't see him ever rising above that level though.

I really like Kofi. I wish he'd have some longer matches.

I touched on this in my thread about the state of the U.S. Title. Kofi is a solid performer, but his recent reign as champion didn't really do anything to increase his stock to the next level. He's charismatic and a guy that fans can get behind, but if they don't book him with any real substance, those tools will only take him so far.

It's gotta be said, but Kofi is too small to be a main eventer. At least Rey Mysterio has some muscle on him, Kofi just seems really skinny, and looks and though he wouldn't stand a chance against any of the big guys.

He needs a manager.

I thought he looked okay. Supposedly he's 6'1 and 220 lbs.

Listen to his theme song on repeat for about six hours and you'll love him. :y:

Once they give him meaningful promo/mic time, he will develop just like Shelton Benjamin is getting better (slowly).

I like Kofi Kingston. The criticisms against him have merit, but I don't think they are particularly barring of him from the main event scene. His character is growing. As mentioned, he has been getting more of a meanstreak and such.

His work with The Miz has been really good. I'd like to see them to continue feuding over the US Title. Eventually, a feud with CM Punk is something I'd enjoy, too. They just can't lose sight of him. He's the sort of guy that could be lost in the shuffle, and as such lose a lot of momentum. See: Benjamin, Shelton.
