Did they always say Ghana, West Africa when he came out?
I remember them saying Jamaica..or is it a figment of my imagination?

I remember some article stating how he is from Ghana but his character is Jamaican. I remember his family being pissed about it..maybe they changed it because of that?

Indeed, he was billed from Jamaica, and they recently changed it to Ghana. They also changed Cryme Tyme to somewhere in Africa and Cena to... Compton.

There's a thread about it in the wrestling forum somewhere, and someone stated the same reason that you did. The family that is.

They used to bill him as from just "Jamaica", now all of a sudden it's Ghana, West Africa, which, at least according to his Wiki, he's not only now billed as being from there, that was in fact where he was born.

Does this mean Cena is now a Yankees fan since last year he was at the Rays postseason rally event before the games started and then the year before at the Red Sox postseason rally event.

I don't know much about them US teams, but why would someone supposedly from Compton would be a New York Yankees fan?
