How many of these guys exist. We all the know the reverse with guys like Austin and Jericho who were underused in WCW and became huge for WWF, but how many went the opposite direction?

BigDaddyCool

Well Hogan, Hall, and Nash all had their careers revitalized. Jeff Jarrett finally got "big" in WCW.

Sting?

Hogan Hall and Nash weren't underused in WWF though. I'm talking guys that WWF missed the boat on.

I'm not sure they missed the boat on Jarrett, he didn't make it all that big in WCW, sure he was in mainevents, but he didn't belong there.

Jeff Jarrett ruined WCW for me. Here you have this guy who was barely an upper-mid carder in the WWF that switches over to WCW and soon becomes the WCW champion. It made WCW look weak.

Shawn Stasiak?

I mean, he wasn't 'big', but he was always involved in some big (though usually lame) storyline.

on the flip side HHH made it big in WWF after WCW let him go..same for Austin, The Undertaker and others shows you how much poor judgment wcw had

The Jayman

Jarrett is the only one I can think of also. he went from a wwf nobody to a wcw big nobody

Actually he started in WCW as Scotty Flamingo, then went to WWF where he was Johnny Polo where he mostly managed/commentated, then he went to ECW where he became Raven, then went back to WCW as Raven, then back to ECW, then to WWF, then to TNA

I mostly just look and see what everyone has posted and never post myself...but this is a tough thread...because most of the wrestlers have always bounced back and forth between the two...just take the andersons, the flairs and other names...there are numorous names considering Hall and nash where both in the WCW before they went to the WWF its hard to say...maybe im just rumbling on...but its really gonna just be hard to name anyone...

10-14-2009, 06:33 PM
Yeah I don't really think there are any. Even the ones mentioned here are only mentioned because people are trying too hard. There's no example of HHH or Austin or Taker. No one even remotely close.

And even for the people trying to say Hall and Nash getting their careers rejuvenated, if you remember, they were both misused by WCW before going to WWE and becoming stars in the first place.

Swiss Ultimate
10-14-2009, 06:52 PM
Raven almost works...almost. Though he left WCW for the WWF when he was still Polo and then went to ECW and became Raven. Raven came to WCW and was used better than he had been by the WWF, this is true, but ECW made Raven.

Also, when Raven came to the WWF he immediately became misused.

Windham was huge in the NWA. Doesnt count.

This is people who were nobodies then went to the WCW and became somebody....and there isnt much...since the WWE made stars and WCW stole them.

Hanso Amore
10-14-2009, 09:35 PM
God. Steiner was a tag champ WCW/NWA before his WWF run.

Steamboat was a top 3 face in the NWA, went to the WWF and was a mid level guy, and went to WCW to be a top guy, so maybe, but he was WELL ESTABLISHED to say the least

Hanso Amore
10-14-2009, 09:36 PM
Shane Douglas?

Was a nobody in WCW, Somebody in ECW, Nobody in the WWE, Somebody in ECW and then mid card in WCW.

Triple Naitch

Steiner was a tag champ. Not a star. WCW made him bigger than he was before.

Hanso Amore
10-14-2009, 09:41 PM
I guess. I dunno. Steiner was a tag champ major face in WCW and was a major star in japan...

I guess its all semantics on the word star or big

WCW was pretty scared of competition coming from WWF so they wouldn't just let a WWF midcarder make it big in their company. They only gave main event status to guys that already made it big in WWF.

WWF(or WWE if you please) on the other hand was already way above WCW when they got their wrestlers that are headlining right now, so there was nothing to worry about.

Scared in a meaning, WCW didn't want the WWF guys to look better than their own, and they probably thought a midcarder from rival company getting the WCW main title would make the WCW look weak.

Highlights exactly what WCW's problem was. They always had the talent but they always failed to keep hold of it, losing or undervaluing the likes of Austin, Jericho, Benoit, Guerrero etc. WWF once they knew they had a talent, they kept hold of it unless they financially could not. The only ex-WWF wrestlers in WCW at it's demise were Bam Bam Bigelow, Dustin Rhodes, Jeff Jarrett, Kevin Nash, Lex Luger, Rick Steiner, Road Warrior Animal, Scott Steiner, Shane Douglas, Shawn Stasiak and possibly a few others. Basically those that were always moving from company to company, those that had burnt bridges/had disputes at WWF, those still on big money contracts and those that were totally off WWF's radar. Out of the list only Jarrett and Steiner (who was huge at the time) were near the top of WCW.

At the same time WWF had Big Show, Jericho, Regal, Raven, Eddie Guerrero, Perry Saturn, Chris Benoit, The Undertaker, Ausin and Triple H appear at Wrestlemania 17 who were all 'lost' by WCW at one point or another.

The Mackem

Would you say WCW used Mang/Haku more than WWF? In his first run in the WWF he was a King and held the tag team titles. In WCW, although he only won the Hardcore title he did have some high profile matches and some even for the WCW Heavyweight title.

Fabien Barthez
10-15-2009, 08:54 AM
Only in relation to how they presented TV.

Haku wrestled the majority of PPV's while he was at NY in the 80's. He wrestled a programme with Hogan for the title for a few months in the lateies.

From a title standpoint, Rick Rude was bigger in WCW.

fuck I was going to say rick rude, he went from big to bigger....

I can't think of many, Vader could have went back to WCW and gone right back to the main event any time up until the closing of the old WCW.

what about DDP and WM11, was he in the crowed or with Bam Bam or something? I Know they're friends?
