Yes, it's back. I've hijacked it, because I have excellent taste and the qualified faux-pretention of being a music journalist at my disposal. What of it?
Anyway, this week, the honours go to 'Lovers in Love', by soul-prog-funk-rock outfit Portugal. The Man, off their new album The Satanic Satanist. It's fast, it's funky, it's catchy, and it gets stuck in your head for hours. It's generally a well-written song, with well-placed shifts and recalls. Funky walking bassline, driving percussion, cool arpeggiated start; it's just fun to listen to.
