Tedious asks, and I deliver.
Is Shane leaving WWE the most shocking WWE-related story since the Benoit incident? (Talking AFTER the Benoit incident.)
And if not, what was?

I was more shocked when Vince sold Raw to Trump.

No. I was more shocked when on SmackDown tonight....
Eric Escobar beat Matt Hardy.

I would say so..... considering there were no reports that indicated that he was leaving before today

Nope. I was more surprised by Linda leaving.

No mainly because if the reports were true, he wasn't going to be the one to inherit total control when Vince gave up being in charge. Kind of surprising he would leave now without any previous rumors or news leading up to a decision.
Yeah, complete 'WHAT' moment for me.

wasn't really shocking to me. My reaction when I first saw the title was kind of like "oh, ok."
it's hard to stay with the same company forever, even if it's your dad's.
I think Linda leaving the company and her CEO spot being that she has been with Vince building it since the beginning was more shocking than Shane leaving

Why is this shocking? Shane appears on TV once in a while anyway, I don't see it as a big loss or anything shocking. I had an "oh okay" reaction over this news as well.

It really wasn't as shocking as the annoncement of new guest hosts for Raw every week. Nowhere near AS shocking as Benoit.

Danielson AND McGuinness agreeing to join the WWE in the space of a week was pretty WOW

The Jeff Hardy arrested was pretty surprising also. Hilarious too.

At first yes it was shocking, but there's been a few more shocking things bigger than that since the Benoit incident. And as has been said, he's been off tv for a while now so it doesn't feel like as big a deal as it could've.

He took his hand out of creative years ago, he has virtually finished his International VP role, since WWE has TV deals everywhere they want and regular venue deals everywhere they want to go. He could very much still be a sporadic worker, but the fact is, if it wasn't for him being a McMahon, the head of international relations has handed in his notice. And that would have been lucky to warrent a thread.

Meh, been plenty of talk through the years of his sister constantly backstabbing him to other people, and her and the nose trying to run things which is supposodly why shane got moved from creative etc to being in charge of the website.
Wether any of thats true is up for debate.

You were surprised that a guy with a history of drug use was arrested for drug possession?

I don't think the Benoit incident was that shocking.

You are suprised a 40 year old Millionaire, and heir to a multi-million dollar business, who has completed the job he was assign to do has opted to seek a new challenge.

Pretty surprised that a man who has given his whole adult life over to the business that his father defined is very suddenly leaving it behind, yeah.
